Padel World Press .- That technology has evolved is a surprising reality; that the quality of the paddle tennis players is superlative, above all, due to the greater professionalism in preparation, training and 'track hours', is another easily demonstrable evidence. We will talk about this in this new chapter of the Brushstrokes of the History of Paddle.

What very few know today are the nuances of the first ten years of paddle tennis in our country, still without Argentines and without other nationalities ... As well as with an enormous difficulty of being able to know it by the general public since its first steps were developments in private golf clubs in Madrid or in exclusive places in Marbella.

Many questions are repeated regarding the levels of spectacle that offered the best shovels and pairs of those times, without trays but with powerful auctions; without leaving the track to recover so many balls but with definite blows with return of balls to the own field or shots that removed the X4 balls (that is to say, with four meters by the lateral ones).

Obviously, we will not enter into comparisons but it does seem to be well-founded that the virtues of the padel pioneers within the tracks be praised and recorded, which led spectators who were watching some of those matches to be enthusiastic and, with their game, they provoked that mouth to mouth / mouth to ear, which led to an unstoppable diffusion of practitioners.

Social tournaments and surname challenges were the first competitive steps until the implementation of the Beefeater circuit, whose success was key in the transformation and dissemination of this sport throughout Spain. In fact, he achieved something difficult to achieve with two colossal pillars that supported the famous weekends for each time new cities:

a) A high quality as a spectacle and novelty of sports.

b) The construction of a true group of friends, who came to be considered as a beloved family of athletes. Sport, and social experiences outside the tracks the rest of the day and night.

Everything was new but each version gained intensity and public, and new clubs joined the Circuit. Good prizes, excellent Welcome Packs and economic rewards that we already told in our previous chapter.

Today we will show some 'peculiarities' and the lists of names that at that time led the rankings.

The first reference we provide is this trophy:

Brushstrokes of the History of Paddle - 4: Curiosities of the 80 years

Year 1989, the lV Open of Pádel Vista Hermosa.

Has anyone noticed the peculiarity? Define Male Double Champions.

That is to say, it seems to want to differentiate the single tournaments (they lasted a few ephemeral months, for obvious reasons) from the doubles events. Curious.

This second one is even more serious, although we can label it as a transcription error of the plate marker:

Brushstrokes of the History of Paddle - 4: Curiosities of the 80 years

Golf La Moraleja, 1986. Male Panddel Championship 1st Category Champion ...

But that error is not only due to the failure of the recorder but, for quite some time, the term Paddle Tennis was used, then Paddle, and, finally, Paddle.

Thus, the error is understood a little more.

Who were the leaders who used to treasure most of the first prizes? Well, Javier Arenzana and Juan Fontán; for, a few years later, more competition will arise with the brothers Arturo and Carlos Jiménez.

But remember names in particular, points and players who reached the Master of one of those years. We hope not to disappoint those who can hold in their memory higher positions in the Ranking, happy to wake up many of those who may have forgotten that they were part of the real story of a sport that continues to grow a lot nationally and internationally.

All gladiators, all participating in the same illusion, all excellent people and athletes. Homage and my personal admiration, respect, affection and friendship to each one.

Brushstrokes of the History of Paddle, touches of a magnificent stage of sport and friendship, with the paddle as a reference.
