We keep on approaching the 22 of April, day in which a new edition of the Championship of Spain by Teams of 2ª Category will begin, in which all the participants will fight to obtain their ascent to the elite of the national padel. From the Spanish Federation they continue presenting us to the captains of the different formations and, on this occasion, it is time to meet Nayra Ramírez, the 'visible head' of a formation with a lot of 'solera'.

Padel World Press .- They are a squad with a lot of tradition, who know what is staying in the top category for many years ... And this time they will try to consummate their return to the top of the Spanish women's paddle

From the role of first seeds, the players of this squad will try to assert the predictions although it knows that it will not be easy since the equality will be maximum among all the formations and, therefore, the final result is very uncertain.

Nayra Ramírez, the head of the Tennis and Paddle Club La Capellanía, spoke with the companions of the FEP, along with those who analyzed what is expected of this Championship, in addition to praising the commitment shown by its players throughout all these years.

Do you repeat last year's team?

There are some changes. We had a baby boom (Laughter), these changes are also forced by the distance from Malaga to Granollers, which has caused some players to not go. The base is the same. There are three players of the quarry and some new incorporation for some circumstances ... But more or less the base has remained.

How goes the preparation knowing that you have played the championship of Andalusia by Teams? How did you see your players in that event?

Well, the truth is that I saw the whole team well. We always face the Andalusian Championship with great enthusiasm. We had two teams, the A and the B. With the B came to semis and the A final against Energysur SharkPádel Los Boliches. In addition, we have just won the Veteran Championship. At each tournament we attend we do it with enthusiasm, competing to the fullest and with much desire.

What do you think are the strongest rivals in this 2ª Category?

We have a lot of respect for all the teams that are there. We have been finding them over the last few years that we have been at 1ª, so they are rivals that deserve the utmost respect. We must bear in mind that there is a lot of equality and level.

After several years playing in 1ª, you had to descend last year against a very strong team like Polo. How did you feel that descent in the team?

For us, having been at 1ª has been a gift. We are a very humble team, which is based on the quarry and has no signings. We have enjoyed the time we have been there to the fullest. Nobody likes to go down but well, we now face the challenge of trying to climb and face it with the same enthusiasm as when we were in 1.

Does your goal go up or do you try not to set big goals and go step by step?

Our goal is permanence. We try to go step by step, so starting from maintaining the category, everything that can be achieved, welcome.

What are the main characteristics that you would highlight of this Chaplaincy team?

Respect for opposites, humility, because whenever we compete we do it as a humble team without a backlash, and work ... Both on the track and the commitment of all players for and by the team.

What are the most difficult decisions you have to face as a captain of this team?

Everything, the truth. From the organization, through the logistics to attend the championship taking into account the distance we have this year or the alignments that we have to put into play, always with the maximum technical rigor.

This year you have the handicap of distance. How do you take this trip to compete in Catalonia?

This year the trip is going to be a yincana (laughs). Some believe that it will be done in two stages, first to Madrid and then to Granollers. Others will do it by plane, since from Malaga we have a relatively comfortable connection up close. But hey, in the end the illusion can do everything.

Any anecdote or something you remember especially in the years you've been on the team?

Anecdotes ... uff, if I start I won't stop. And it is almost impossible to get bored with this team. As a curious fact to tell you that we have two pairs of twins in the team, so you can imagine the one with such fun messes that are formed (laughs).

You have told me something about some players may not be present this year for various reasons such as distance. What would you say to all those players who have been accompanying you year after year and who this time can not be too reluctant?

From Club La Capellania we want to thank all our players, both those who will be competing this year in Granollers and those who will cheer us on from a distance, for their unconditional support to the team throughout its journey since they are the ones that make it possible for Chaplaincy is what it is: something more than a team ... a great family.

To finish, Beatriz Ramírez, one of the main players of the team, said: "I am very happy to be able to play another year in the team with which I have been playing since we started this adventure. I feel proud to belong to the great family that forms Chaplaincy, both on and off the track. "
