Do not miss the second part of our interview with the great player of the Adidas Team. This time, together with our colleague Daniel Gamarra, he will tell us about his beginnings in the world of paddle tennis, the memories of his time in the Junior Circuit or how he 'arranges' them to combine his medical studies with competition in the Professional Circuit.

Padel World Press .- It is one of the proper names of the female padel although it has barely 19 years. Already accumulates many experiences and experiences related to this sport, which make any talk with her is fun, enjoyable and very enriching.

Then we leave you with the second installment of an interview, in which we can learn more about one of these young players called to continue giving much to talk about in the world of paddle tennis.

How did you discover this sport?

My father has practiced many sports since his childhood and the paddle was one of the ones he liked the most. At the time I thought that I could be able to combine this sport with my studies here in Madrid and that I would not have to go away or leave them as it happens with other sports. I started playing in the club that was next to my school, Tennis Club and Padel López Maeso.

How were your origins in the paddle?

They were very funny. They were all didactic games or coordination and my first coach, Mariano Amat, who knew how to get me hooked on this sport contributed.

What do you like most and what would you highlight about your Minor stage?

What I liked the most was the reunion with all my friends from different parts of Spain. We only saw each other in the Juniors tournaments and we made the most of those weekends. So, what I would highlight most of that stage, are all the friends that I have come to do. I remember each and every one of them with a lot of love and I hope to see you again soon. On the other hand, I can not fail to mention the World Championships that I have lived during the Children's stage. I have been lucky enough to represent my country 3 times and the 3 World Cups have been unforgettable experiences. I think all of my selection partners will agree with me.

How was your step from Minors to Absolute? How did you experience it?

I started in the Absolute Circuit with 14 years and debuted in World Paddle Tour with 15. That's why I can say that my step was staggered, little by little and without abandoning minors. The differences between both circuits are visible to the naked eye. In Minors you can be eating with what will be your opposite in a couple of hours, while in the Absolute Circuit that is unthinkable when the rounds are reaching the final stage. Personally, I think I did well to get into World Paddle Tour soon and I recommend without any doubt to all the boys and girls who want to dedicate themselves to the professional paddle to start playing the Circuit as soon as possible, as long as they feel prepared and it is a consensual decision with his parents and with his coach.

How has Marta Ortega of now improved compared to Marta Ortega of previous years?

I have acquired patience… I am stubborn and, even if I try to change it, I think I will continue to be so… Even so, I think I have improved my patience. I no longer so angry with myself when I miss a stroke or something when I do not get in a workout.

What has been the family support during your sporting career? How have they helped you?

I have a family that supports me unconditionally in everything and I believe that each one of them does their role. My mother is everything to me, we spend a lot of time together and managed to be my friend besides being my mother. My father, in the sports field, has always been very present and, if he wants to, he will continue to be. Just by looking into my eyes he knows how I am and even what I am thinking. These two are the pillars of my life, along with Klauss, who have for 6 years and now do not know what I'd do without him.

How are you off track of paddle?

I am very organized. I like the order and think things. I do not usually act or make decisions like crazy. I consider myself an outgoing person with an easy smile. I'm laughing all the time.

You take very young in the world of paddle tennis What you like about this sport and its surroundings? And the least?

What I like the most about padel is that it is a very social sport. I have met many people thanks to him. And what I would like to change is that it had more media coverage (TV, radio, national sales press, etc), that the paddle was made known more (as to all who practice it, I imagine). Many people play paddle tennis and very few talk about padel at the media level, while very little plays football and everyone talks and comments about it.

Today, in the Juvenile Circuit it is seen how many parents put too much pressure on their children to win… What do you think of this? What would you say to those parents?

I am not the one to tell or advise parents about their children. I think every parent always wants the best for their children and never be in better hands. They want to do sport, compete and have fun. I don't think 'push' is the right word ... They want you to push yourself and do your best. Some may require, of course, as in other things, your education, your studies ...

Many people are surprised when they see an athlete like you, who is studying Medicine ... What is the secret to combining professional sports with a career as Medicine?

The secret is to manage time and know how to sacrifice being with friends, parties, etc. You must devote a large part of your free time to training and, honestly, I think it's worth it. It is not something that costs me since I do it with great enthusiasm and consciously. I sleep little but I think that 'he who wants something, something costs him'.

Do you plan to practice Medicine in the future? Or you want to completely devote to professional paddle?

I love Medicine, I want to be a doctor, I want to practice medicine, I am enjoying the race a lot ... I would like to combine it with the life of the professional padel and once I retire as a professional player, I will exercise, although for that there is a lot left. For now I have clear that I will not leave either.

Is it difficult for Marta Ortega find time to spend with family or hanging out with friends during the year?

I go out very little. I am not a person who goes out normally but when you have to go out it goes out, hahaha. This year we have made a group of friends at the University with whom I am delighted and who are making my career very bearable. I managed to become fond University paddle tennis and play it. They see all my streaming matches, they have become paddle fans. It is an honor to arrive to class on Monday and to be remembered for points you have played… For me, the race is the best in the world. I'm delighted. Although it is hard, I recommend to anyone who considers the option of studying medicine to do so because it is worth it.

What does it mean to you that two companies like Adidas or Herbalife have trusted you for so long?

I've been with Adidas since the 2013 (3 years) and I just signed for 4 more seasons. I am eternally grateful. They treat me great and have always counted on me for everything, even to make the shovels. My shovel I could design it to my liking. They have done it with the qualities that I asked them, so it is a shovel made to me. For me they are the best in the world. With Herbalife I have also been several years and I thank you for your trust in me during all this time. I would like to highlight the concept of equipment that both Adidas and Herbalife have, at the sponsored level we get along very well together.
