New delivery of interviews that the Spanish Federation has made to the heads of the teams that will take part in the next edition of the Championship of Spain by Team 1ª Category. It's time to get to know more closely one of the great references of the national padel: the Chamartín Tennis Club.

Padel World Press .- As they pointed out from the FEP, if we think of racket clubs with 'solera' in our country, the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona and the Chamartín almost immediately come to our head. Both base their philosophy on the constant search for excellence through a very serious organizational structure.

In the decade of the 90, the 'Chamar' was the rival to beat and you could almost say that 'swept' in each competition in which he participated. Now, in recent years, the entry into scene of new teams sponsored by sports brands, have made it lose some prominence but still remains one of the strongest sets. Three years ago he conquered his last title against Zaragoza, the team that has surpassed them during the last two seasons.

Led by Mabel Gallego, the girls from Chamartín will make their debut at the event in front of the hostesses, the representatives of the Club Esportiu Tarragona Pádel Indoor. It will be a very equal tie, in which the objective is to achieve a permanence that allows to start building a team of the future.

Do you repeat last year's team?

We had to make a small change for obligation. Marta Ortega leaves, who will play in the Championship with the Sharkpadel, and in her place has entered Esther Lasheras.

How is the preparation going taking into account that you have recently played the tournament by teams from Madrid?

When we played the Madrid Championship we were able to gather all the players, including those from outside. There we could do some joint training.

How was that final against the Vibor-A Team, which escaped you for very little?

It was very even, it was a bit as planned. The point that 6-4 missed in the third set, a shame.

Have you seen the team well in this tournament?

Yes, the truth is that I have seen it well.

Your rival in the first round will be the host, Esportiu Tarragona Pádel Indoor, one of the most difficult you could play. How do you see this tie?

Well, we're used to being touched by the 'hard guys'. We have some very complicated years. The first year they put the unique ranking, the picture was impossible and we played Zaragoza in the first round, although we had a great team and we had played the final the previous year against them. The next thing was the WPT theme but we had the Pole in the first round, which we won with many difficulties. In principle, they are all difficult so good, to fight and to play with confidence.

Who do you think are the strongest rivals?

Zaragoza and Shark.

In the semifinals you would have to cross with Zaragoza, with which you have lost in the semis and first round respectively the last two years. How would you see this confrontation?

The truth is very complicated. They have won us the last two years and have a great team.

Do you set any goal for the Championship or want to go better round to round?

Round to round. I would like to form a team that lasts several years, loyalty to players, that three do not go away every year. With the appearance of the Shark, the most damaged team has been the Chamartín so, for now, we must consolidate a team that is competitive, that lasts and that keeps us in the 1ª Category since we have never come down.

What is the philosophy that defines this Chamartín Tennis Club a bit?

I think what Chamar has is that it is an institution, it is a club, sir. As captain, I feel very responsible for the image, as you defend the colors of a club that has a lot of prestige, with a name that must be left high in all places. More than sportingly, in the sense of lordship, education, knowing how to be; that image of serious organization and one of the best clubs in Spain.

What are the most difficult decisions you have to make as a captain of this team?

Right now I do not have very complicated decisions ... Just make couples well. Personally, most of the players have been for several years, we understand each other very well, they are fun and we organize ourselves very well as a team.

Putting us in a hypothetical semifinal against Zaragoza. How do you motivate your players against this confrontation and more considering that they have won the last two tournaments?

Honestly on paper they are better equipment. Less the first year, which was in the first round and where Mariana made a great strategy play, taking out a player who had signed to put another without points. These last two years is very complicated, since the Alayeto sisters tend to be two safe points, along with Patty and Eli the other, which is why they usually win always clear. My approach is that if last year was lost in the decisive point to three sets, against Majo and Paula, without Marta Ortega, since he was injured. Why would not we be able to do it this year with the same team? So the motivation is clear.

Finally, Icíar Montes, a player who grew up as an athlete in that club and currently a female national coach of Spain, said: "The Team Championship is a special competition. You have to form five pairs combining levels and points added between the players, while taking into account the possible combinations of the rival team. It's exciting and fun. In turn, we can not forget the economic and organizational effort on the part of the clubs, which invest in their signings. For me it is an honor that CT Chamartín, club where I gave my first paletazos, continue counting on me ".
