He is the man that, tournament after tournament, makes us enjoy with his great comments in the WPT Streaming ... Without a doubt, he is the voice of the World Paddle Tour Circuit. On this occasion, and from his column both in the Official Magazine and in the Circuit Website, talks about the end of the adventure of one of those couples that will remain forever in the history of this wonderful sport.
Padel World Press .- They have been, are and will be two of the proper names in the world of paddle tennis. They have shared twelve years as partners, in which they have left us great moments that we can never forget.
Do not miss this great article of a good friend like Óscar Solé, in which he will pay his particular homage to a 'mythical' couple, to some players who have shown us with their dedication, their professionalism, their charisma and their talent that this sport is a true spectacle.
"In 2013, coinciding with the start of the World Padel Tour, the return of one of the best couples in the history of this sport was announced: Gaby Reca and Seba Nerone. It was at that time when it occurred to me to nickname 'the Mythical', because they were one of the reference pairs at the end of the last century and the beginning of this one. In short, because Reca-Nerone are synonymous with paddle.
We could say that in spite of their youth they became the successors of another mythical couple like 'Gattiker-Lasaigues' and the dominators of the International Circuit until Juan Martín Díaz and Fernando Belasteguín appeared on the scene.
We must go back to 1996 to see their first match as a couple, in an Argentine tournament where they coincided, but recently formalized their 'relationship' in 1998. From then on, the good results began to happen, becoming two years later the leaders of the world ranking. A reign that lasted for a short time, until 2002, when the exciting duels against Diaz-Belasteguin began.
A 'war' for the leadership that lasted until December of 2006, date of the resounding separation of Reca-Nerone, after losing the final of the Master precisely to the monarchs of the world padel.
This duo, that beyond its sporting successes marked footprint here in Spain for having identified with the colors of Atlético de Madrid.
When they returned in 2013 they were aware that it would be a different stage, that they would compete with the goal of having fun without wanting to repeat the old thing because it would be impossible. And so these three years went by until they decided to put an end to their professional career together.
Valencia has been their last tournament as a couple, although for the sake of the paddle and we the fans, we will continue to enjoy your magic, although separately. Thank you Reca-Nerone for all these years.
