Reference name within the world of sports physiotherapy, it is a real pleasure for Padel World Press to be able to count on their collaboration from now on. Get to know more about an extraordinary professional, in whose work many of the great stars of this wonderful sport already trust.

Padel World Press .- Doctor in Physiotherapy, with two Masters in Sports Physiotherapy and Neurological Physiotherapy, Javier Cuenca has almost two decades of experience in his experienced hands.

His passion for sport led to his career specializing in everything related to him and, for a few years, his 'discovery' of the paddle made it possible for this discipline to 'win' a great professional.

From this moment, the readers of Padel World Press will be able to enjoy their articles, they will be able to learn with their advice, they will be able to know more closely what happens 'inside' of the Professional Circuit and, of course, they will be able to ask their questions, already that it is intended that this new section be a dynamic, interactive space in which the fans have a very important role.

An increasingly well-known company in the sector, how did the idea of launching the J. Cuenca Basin Physiotherapy project come about?

When I finished my degree I worked for several years in the United States and in London, where I had the opportunity to learn another work philosophy that, along with my next years of experience in Spain, has given me a broader vision in the recovery of injuries. Sports All this made me have a philosophy of my own, aimed at offering any patient the same quality and care that an elite athlete requires. That is how Fisioterapias J. Cuenca was born.

What would you say then, what is the philosophy, what are the pillars on which the work of Fisioterapias J. Cuenca is based?

The most important pillar of Fisioterapias J. Cuenca is its team of excellent professionals. Our philosophy is based on offering a personalized treatment to our patients, using the best material on the market, with an excellent quality-price ratio.

How and when did your relationship with the world of paddle begin?

Years ago the padel hooked me, as a player and as an amateur. Icíar Montes was my first direct contact with the professional paddle three years ago. Carolina Navarro and Cecilia Reiter opted for a more complete and personal physiotherapy. With them the commitment is even greater and I accompany them throughout the Circuit. So much so that they have been the pioneers, and so far unique, who take their physiotherapist to tournaments. Currently, we treat many other Professional Circuit players in our clinics.

Now that you know this sport from within, how would you define the importance of having a good physio?

Compulsory Any high level athlete has in his team the figure of the physiotherapist. The paddle can not be less. Each year is more demanding, requires players more hours on the track, more tests are incorporated into the Circuit and couples are more competitive. The recovery between parties is something vital.

And at a more amateur level, what role does the physio play to avoid or correct injuries, etc.?

A very important role. The amateur player, as a rule, does not have the same care as the professional, but he does play many games. This generates more risk of injuries and without a good follow-up in physiotherapy will increase the injuries and the recovery periods.

On many occasions, the amateur, even with ailments, is reluctant to go to a specialist. What would you say to those people who feel discomfort but have not yet visited a physio?

I think that in the last ten years confidence in physiotherapy has grown enormously and professional sports are very much to blame for this. The effectiveness of its treatments and the preparation of its professionals have placed it in an essential position linked not only to sports but to the demands of daily life.

What is the basic thing that should know and put into practice that 99% of fans who play paddle tennis for pure pleasure?

A good pre-match warm-up as well as a return to calm or post-match recovery.

In our previous talks, you have always told us that 'the body thinks' ... What exactly does that statement mean?

All the actions that we generate in our body involve a reaction. If we perform a warm-up, the body interprets it as a "come on, activate me in a while I need you to stop". If during your life you do not have a healthy diet, your body will send you signals: you will gain weight, increase your chances of suffering from diabetes and your heart will be damaged. If you suffer a lot of stress, you will defend yourself by producing skin problems, digestive problems, insomnia, etc. In short, the 'body thinks' and responds by alerting us. Let's not stop listening to him.

In other words, helping us to think correctly, to interpret the signals of our body and send the appropriate messages will be what we can find in the new section that you will have in Padel World Press.

That is my intention ... To be able to share the knowledge that this sport gives me every day (and many others) and to deal, in addition, with all the topics that the fans and fans of the paddle may be interested in.

If you had to define it in a few words, what fans of this wonderful sport can find in your new corner in Padel World Press would be ...

The possibility of sharing knowledge and advice aimed at minimizing small injuries and significantly increasing their performance, so that they can fully enjoy this sport. How to perform a good warm-up, the best stretches for the most punished areas during matches, videos in which professional players will help us teach the most effective physiotherapy techniques, are just some examples of the topics we will deal with.

With great challenges and ongoing projects, will we have surprises and news from Fisioterapias J. Cuenca in the coming weeks?

It is very satisfying that our company is in continuous movement. We will be happy to share all the news with you. Finally, I would not like to say goodbye without thanking you for the opportunity you have given me to trust in me for this project.
