Professor in Physical Education of the National University of La Plata, specialized in sports training since 20 years ago, is one of the most prestigious physical trainers in the world of paddle. Member of the team of work of the Argentine National Team, is preparing to settle in our country and start a new stage in his professional career.

Padel World Press .- Formed under the tutelage of Horacio Anselmi, the coach who changed the paradigm in sports training in Argentina, Gustavo decided, now 15 years ago, to focus his efforts on applying this method of work in a racquet sport and, because of his closeness to Sebastian Mocoroa, began his relationship with the paddle.

As he told us when remembering that time: "At that time, without the development of internet or social networks, and with a very basic padel, I began to study, analyze and test different types and methods of work in a group of players that made it easy for me: Agustín Gómez Silingo, Juan Manuel Rodríguez, Ezequiel Brachi and other guys who started to move professionalism in Argentina ".

And what would you say is your work philosophy? In his opinion: “Part of the biological and pedagogical principles that are established in sports training: individuality when dosing a plan, continuity and progression in each training, specificity and predominance, training for the sport that is played, active participation at all times in the athlete's life, knowledge transfers and an action plan, an order and planning of each of the actions and decisions that are taken ... In a single word and being more direct, what my father always instilled in me: work, perseverance, order and above all responsibility and knowledge ”.

It's no secret that the importance of the role of the physical trainer has been growing in recent years. In that sense, he pointed out: “There were few of us who long ago dedicated ourselves to physical training on paddle tennis. Without a doubt, the player's need grew and today is even greater due to the evolution of the game, new technology, what people want to see and what TV wants to sell ... And that is speed, explosiveness , Show. The need for the spectacular made the player give physical training such an importance that today, when you think about a training plan, you think together: technical and physical. This is where the need to form the work team arises and where we, the physical trainers, are a direct collaborator of the technical coach. We are the ones who carry the action plan, who balance loads, who seek for the player to have the best sensations. As long as you work as a team, success will be assured… It will only be a matter of setting achievable objectives and with different deadlines to meet ”.

About the players who have gone through their hands and the most important achievements in this sport, he said: "The paddle has given me many satisfactions, since being part of the technical staff of the Argentine National Team of Pádel since 15 years ago to win the World Junior Championship in 2013, the Absolute World Championship of 2010 with the Women's National Team and, from 2012 with the Men's National Team, the Bilbao World Open with Di Nenno and Stupaczuk. I believe that the greatest achievement, and the one that gives me the most professional joy, is to have trained many of the players that currently compete in the World Padel Tour Circuit and to see how many of the guys who went through the National Teams Minors are world figures. I had the pleasure and luck of training Maxi Grabiel, Agustín Gómez Silingo, Ramiro Moyano, Gastón Malacalza, Gerardo Derito, Juan Restivo, Franco Stupaczuk, Martín Di Nenno, Andrés Britos, Yain Melgrati, Elias Estrella, Juan Manuel Rodriguez and a great number of players who have done preseason, who have been training and training as professional players of paddle ".

It is about to take a very important step, as is to move to live in Spain. What sports project do you have in mind to develop? Very excited, he stated: “My teaching training, from the construction of knowledge and work, generates in me the constant search for new goals, new challenges and, therefore, being able to reach the country where the most important Circuit in the world is played is a great incentive to develop my profession. The illusion of putting everything I was able to do in the Argentine paddle here is what drives me to start this new path. Being able to develop, train and professionalize players is the most ambitious goal that I have as a goal for this new year. I want to be able to develop my training system in Spain from training, with a physical training plan and method. That is the engine that will carry out the action plan to, from there, help the arrival of the professional world of players ”.

As a farewell, the 'teacher' Balquinta wanted to send a message to the fans: "Training is the key to all progress and improvement in the level of play. For that reason, the specific physical training for paddle is synonymous with generating sports health and achieving that plus that makes it possible to play better, which allows us to arrive better positioned to the ball and that can be better prepared for the next stroke. My advice is always that there is nothing more precious than enjoying what we like. If that enjoyment is total, nothing better can happen to you. Therefore, we must prepare ourselves so that the best happens inside the track, where the sensations make us enjoy the game. Training is being able to play better every day. "
