One more week, the companions of the Adidas Paddle Blog They surprise us with one of their great articles. Firm committed to the international development of this wonderful sport, this time we talk about the growing passion with which the paddle is living in Japan.

Padel World Press .- At the end of May, the brand of the three bands introduced us to Alberto Fernández, a Spaniard living in Osaka, who, thanks to his love for paddle tennis, started the project "Padel Japan", which included from the first moment with the help and collaboration of Adidas.

Now, five months later, he wanted to share with all of us how he sees the situation of this sport in the 'Asian giant' ... And, of course, the message can not be more optimistic.

"From the other side of the globe, from the Country of the Rising Sun, I tell you a little about the situation with reference to the development of paddle tennis and its acceptance among society, a society lucky enough to be able to count on a sport like paddle tennis , a sociable discipline like no other, that connects all kinds of people no matter how 'closed' they may be.

The first thing that I would like to comment on, and that draws my attention, is to see how in a country where the majority of fashions are born worldwide, paddle tennis arrived at the end of 2013; but hey, as they say, better late than never.

We can say that the beginning of this incredible project was slow, with a lot of time and resources invested, but little by little, very positive results are beginning to be seen and more and more practitioners are beginning to pick up the shovel.

Although most events have taken place in Tokyo and Osaka, I can tell you that different types of actions have been carried out at the national level to promote this sport ... Among them, tournaments, clinics, presentations at the most renowned Universities in Japan, television and radio. We also set up the website of Adidas Paddle Japan. If you want you can take a look and, although I do not think you understand what is being said, it makes me especially excited to see how we are working and that, in effect, the paddle reaches Japan

The response to all the actions carried out so far has been very positive. With Adidas Paddle we have managed in a very short time to attract the attention of several companies and sports clubs to build tracks in several major cities of the country. Until today we already have 6 tracks spread throughout the national territory: two in Tokyo, one in Osaka, one in Nara, one in Kyoto and one in Mie, all of them with a very good occupation, especially in Tokyo and Osaka… We are convinced that throughout 2016 we will be able to triple or quadruple the number of tracks and practitioners. It's just a matter of time.

The largest number of people interested in trying this sport, and who repeat it, are mostly housewives in love with tennis who spend hours and hours at the club. There are also University students who dedicate a lot of time of the week to the practice of tennis as well as office workers who take advantage of their free time to come and play for a while.

Whoever tries it loves it and, as a rule, repeats. In general, both men and women, the type of game they play is quite aggressive, with many unforced misses… Out of panic to the walls, they love to be up in the net. Sometimes I find it funny because no matter how much you call their attention and explain them, they avoid using the walls as much as they can by standing in the center of the court and volleying everything that comes. They are customs that will have to be filed over time.

For my part, I have the responsibility and the great challenge ahead of doing continue to grow paddle tennis and that the Adidas Paddle project in Japan is a total success. To achieve this, I will continue to do my best every day, looking for new locations to set up new tracks, training new monitors and transmitting my passion for this incredible sport in various ways.

Do not stop; the ball is at stake ... Sayonara!

Alberto Fernández "
