He is one of the last signings of the signature of the three bands and stands out for his adventurous and restless spirit, which makes him travel to all corners of the world to share his passion for paddle tennis. Through the Adidas Paddle Blog He will tell us about his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates.

Padel World Press .- This new section begins, which we will call 'Batata's AdiTour', in which I want to invite you to travel with me, to accompany me in each tournament, to enjoy each new experience together and, with that, to have a greater knowledge about paddle tennis outside of Spain… In short, so that you know where to go, how are the events organized in other countries, in which clubs to play, etc.

My way through Dubai

As many of our readers already know, just a few days ago I was in UAE (United Arab Emirates), where I participated in the NAS Sport Complex Tournament, in the city of Dubai. It started on Wednesday, 15 in February, and ended on 18 day. In the same, I achieved the victory with my partner Guillermo Villafañe.

The event was held in the magnificent NAS facilities, one of the best places to enjoy good paddle tennis in Dubai. I recommend it to all of you, as I would also recommend that you take advantage of your stay in that city to do a little sightseeing.

We're going sightseeing in the Emirates

During my stay, I was able to visit places like the Burj al Arab, the only 7 hotel in the world, Burj Khalifa (famous for being the tallest tower in the world) or the Dubai Safari Desert, where I enjoyed the dunes of the Arabian desert, visited the typical camel tents and I got to know a little more about their ancient culture.

He did not miss the passage through the Dubai Mall (the largest Shopping Center in the world) or the City Walk, a very quiet area where some of the best restaurants in the city are found, which has different attractions, including Cinemas in 4D. Virtual reality games and a 360º light show that is presented every hour are many of the other activities that can be carried out in this fantastic city.

To end my stay in the Emirate, I changed course on Tuesday, the 21st, and left the paddle tennis behind in Dubai to go to Abu Dhabi (the capital). In the morning I visited Ferrari World, an impressive theme park with different attractions related to the brand… There is the fastest roller coaster in the world, which reaches a speed of 240km / h.

I couldn't be there as long as I would have liked because I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to meet Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the largest Mosque in the Arab Emirate. I have to say that it is not only striking for its size but also for its history and for what it represents for all Muslims ... Not to mention that it is one of the most luxurious places in the entire Emirate. Building it cost the government about 545 million dollars approximately (so you can imagine how it is inside, hahaha).

Inside I could see chandeliers of 10 meters in length and 9 tons of weight, based on copper and gold. The carpet in the main room is the largest in the world, with 5.627 m2. It weighs 47 tons, has 2.268.000.000 knots and was handcrafted by about 1.200 people.

Time for paddle in Abu Dabhi

In the afternoon I had to leave tourism aside and finished my stay by giving a Adidas Padel Clinic at the Abu Dabhi Country Club. The participants spent an excellent time testing the different blades of this new Adidas 2017 collection. The sensations were unbeatable and both those who knew this sport and those who tried them for the first time were very surprised.

From these lines I want to thank Raúl Cuesta, and all the people of the club, for providing us with their facilities. Without them, none of this would have been possible. I also want to thank Khalid Alatiya, Juan de Dios and all those who decided to participate in the event. It was, without a doubt, a very pleasant experience for all of us who were there enjoying a magnificent evening of paddle tennis.

Now yes, from Madrid I say goodbye to all of you until the next post ... I thank you for having accompanied me on this adventure.

Until the next trip, friends!
