Padel World Press .- The date in red is the one marked by the Madrid Paddle Federation for the dispute of this Championship but the work of a captain (captain in my case) begins much earlier. The first step, and more strategic, is the realization of signings. In that sense, I must emphasize that we started last year but, of course, what you outlined a year ago, when the moment of truth arrives, because it is not always valid at all ... And there are certain imponderable (state of form, injuries, setbacks, etc.) that make certain changes necessary. The variables that can be given to make up the final team are infinite.

Once the signings are outlined, the mess of paperwork begins (licenses, registrations, change of federations). It is a real gibberish and part of the work that I, personally, least like. Then you have to register your club, with a first payment of about 200 euros; when you have already registered it, you can access to register it in the Championship, which costs another 175 euros per team, in our case, 350, since we compete in both categories. The payment to players is usually done scaling, according to WPT Ranking, with a fixed plus incentives according to the results obtained.

Once all the bureaucratic paperwork has been done, the good comes finally, the tremendously exciting thing: scrutinizing the other teams, forming the pairs, the possible alignments of the opposites ... These are magical moments, they are moments for strategy.

Last Thursday the Championship began with victory of the Male Team. In the girls, when going of seeds of series, we passed exempt.

On Saturday, February 10, and starting at 18:00 p.m., we will play the semifinals.

Regardless of the result we obtain, I want to take advantage of this window to thank all the players who have shared this tournament with me from the bottom of my heart… They have a moment of nerves, happiness and a lot of tension. This is team play !!
