Padel World Press - El Paddle World Championship is suspended. So resounding and so clear is the news that shakes the world of paddle tennis in the last hours after having officially confirmed the International Paddle Federation (FIP) through its website.

And it is that from the highest body that governs the world paddle have tried to rush until the last moment for the celebration of the most important event of the international paddle, but the global pandemic of COVID-19 has forced the event to be definitively suspended until 2021.

A Paddle World Cup that was scheduled for the month of November and that, for the first time, would be based in Qatar, but that should be postponed and incorporated into the 2021 calendar permanently.

Official: the World Cup is suspended until 2021

«Unfortunately, we must recognize that the emergency scenario related to COVID-19 has not yet ended in the territories of many of our affiliated members (while in some countries the path to return to normalcy has been taken): traveling from one country to another, both in terms of pure transportation and related requirements (issuance of visas, quarantine, reviews, etc.) is still complicated (in some cases even prohibited) and the news from different countries of the world is still not encouraging in the short / medium term"Reads the FIP statement.

A suspension that, however, will not modify the venue since, as reported by the FIP itself, the Qatar Federation has confirmed its availability to celebrate the 2021 event on a date yet to be determined.

A setback for the world of paddle tennis that will seek compensation in 2021 under two parameters of maximum responsibility: security and participation.
