The prestigious competition, which has been making fans enjoy its great tournaments for more than 20 years, reached the halfway point of the 2016 season. From July 02 to 10, a packed event was held on the slopes of the Paddle Club La Moraleja of incentives and surprises ... Among them, having your first appointment reserved exclusively for 'veterans'.
Padel World Press .- The courts of the popular club in the Northern Zone of Madrid became the venue for the first of the two tests of this campaign that will be open to both Federated and Non-Federated players ... And, as they pointed out from the organization of the Circuit: "This event demonstrates the attitude of permanent innovation to respond to the concerns of the different profiles of paddle tennis fans."
For the first time in its history, the competition had two simultaneous nine-day events, reserving one for veterans and veterans. The answer could not be more positive since a total of 77 couples were registered, among which the presence of 80 women attracted attention, a very high number and that in few occasions has been reached in any other competition of veterans (not be an Annual League).
With two categories in both the Men and the Women, the spectators who went to the La Moraleja Paddle Club could witness vibrant shocks, full of emotion and very equal.
In that sense, it should be noted that the victory in 1ª Category of Veterans Masculina was for Manuel Rodríguez-Francisco Javier Rodríguez while, in 1ª Femenina, the winners were María Isabel Guijo-Silvia Mayoral.
On the other hand, those players who enjoy the Mixed Tournaments also had an Open, open to fans of all ages, as well as their usual Masculine and Feminine modalities. Among the three, a total of 178 participants met.
With respect to the palmares, Manuel Ortega-Fernando Garay won with the victory in 1ª Masculina; Adiadna Arias-Laura Yagüe in 1ª Femenina; and Rafael Calvo-Claudia Paduán in the Mixta.
A passion that did not stop or high temperatures
The intense heat that 'punished' Madrid during the first days of the month of July did not prevent almost 300 people from registering in the two Express Tournaments. For the first time in the Circuit, Marta Ortega gave a Clinic. Recently sponsored by Estrella Damm, Martita returned to a competition that could almost be said to have seen her 'born' as a player. Along with her, other professionals such as Álex Ruiz, Agustín Gómez Silingo and Jacobo Blanco also participated in the 'Express'.
As data to review, it should be noted that for future editions will be studied the option of the July Express Tournament are nocturnal, an approach that was very well received by the players.
