Padel World Press .- The month of July is being very intense and news about the future of the Professional Circuit do not stop happening. Some people say that summer is 'vacation time' but, in this case, for the players it will not be like that since they will have to make a decision about the direction they want to give to their respective careers.

Although we have already referred to this matter in previous articles, let's put a little in background to our readers.

As everyone knows, World Padel Tour is the Circuit in which the players compete since the 2013 year. Throughout this time, the evolutions and the best introduced to the world of paddle have been more than remarkable and have made this sport has experienced a leap of quality more than obvious.

Just a few months ago, due to the imminent end of their current contract with the players (and before the 'threat' of the presentation of a new proposal to them), from WPT they managed to close a pre-agreement with the main 'actors' of this discipline, which was to be executed before the March 31st of 2018 ... Something that was not done.

In this situation, the company MCI Sports reactivated its old dream of presenting a new circuit model to the players and, during the dispute of the Estrella Damm Valencia Master, met with them to maintain a first contact, know their intentions and lay the foundations of the project they were willing to put on the table.

From that day, World Padel Tour began an active campaign to close the contracts of its players and one of the first steps was a letter from Mario Hernando, General Director of WPT, to each and every one of the participants in the Circuit. In this letter, to which we could have access, warned of the consequences that could have not acted with 'loyalty'.

What is the situation of the players?

At this time, the fracture is palpable. On the one hand there are those who have the backing and sponsorship of the Damm Group who, very quickly, renewed their commitments and showed their confidence in the team that had taken the professional paddle to the place where it is now (unthinkable for many just a few years ago). On the other hand, there are those who want to study both proposals, state their conditions and be able to choose what they consider best for their future.

On Monday, 23 day in July, a meeting has been called by MCI Sports to present your project definitively players and a group of brands that have asked to attend the meeting.

Before, on Thursday 19 in July, the facilities of the Reebok Sports Club La Finca they were the scene of another meeting between World Padel Tour and the players (represented by several 'regulars' in the Previous Rounds).

As we have been able to know, the result of the meeting was very positive since the communication, the dialogue and the will to understand were mutual.

Among many other demands, what players will ask both Circuits will be:

- An expansion of the Table, both Main and Preview. From what they see, they need more 'movement' because they have the feeling that everything is very 'closed' and accessing the Final Draw can be almost impossible. Among their requests, they consider it essential to ensure a way to facilitate that more pairs have options to win games and points for the Padel World Ranking.

- Another condition will be that the Scoring System varies. At the moment there are couples that enter the Draw directly and that lose in the first round test after test. According to the calculations of the players: “A player who from Pre-Preview to last round of the Preview wins 60 matches in the 15 tournaments of the year, that is, 4 matches per event, would earn 450 points and 2.805 euros.

For its part, a player who enters in the 15 tableau matches and wins 0 matches would take 720 points and 6938 euros (440 points for the 11 Open and 280 points for the 4 Master).

The problem of the player of Previa, at present, is that he is dedicated and he trains as much or more than a player of Cuadro and, since the Circuit is so hard, nobody passes the Previews of all the tournaments. Therefore, even if a player always loses in the first round of the Draw, he would have added a lot ".

That is why they understand that this system has to change and, among other things, it would be necessary to make those who fall systematically in the first round of the Table lose points, which could cause them to be relegated to the Priors.

- In turn, it will also be required that the bonus for going from Pre-Preliminary to Preliminary increases, in the same way as for qualifying from Preliminary to Draw.

These are just some of the requests that the players will put on the table of those responsible for the two circuits ... Then, once all the details of both projects are known, they will decide their future.

We are waiting for some very interesting weeks, which will mark a before and after in the history of this wonderful sport.
