Momo González has been one of the great protagonists of the final in the World ChampionshipDubai 2022 where, together with his companion Alex Ruiz, played the last game of the final against Argentina. A match in which they faced, nothing more and nothing less, than Fernando Belasteguin and Sanyo Gutierrez.

The paddle does not rest for Momo González that, almost without time, attends to the Daily Brand just before catching a flight to Sweden, where another of the international tests of the World Padel Tour, the Malmo Open.

In this interview, which you can read in full here, address the sensations that the player from Malaga has had throughout the World Cup; both personal and sports, about his teammates and, also about rivals.

One of the most important is how he saw the last game, the final point that gave us victory in the World Cup, but that ultimately could not be won, partly because of the great tandem they formed Bella and Sanyo.

He commented that the way the track was, the match was going to be very close. The slowness caused by the previous games was going to be one of the aspects to take into account to take the final point. Slow courts favor experienced players, and facing them were two of the best players in the world.

Momo González: "Lebrón is the emotional leader of this team"

But Momo also commented that a backhand player as atypical as him (Juanjo's words) could be a great weapon to be able to take that final point. In fact, the man from Malaga was very motivated and his words to Marca when they asked him about the confrontation against Sanyo and Bela were:

Momo Gonzalez: «I entered the game saying that I was going to win whoever was ahead. We gave everything from the beginning, we stood up until the end and I think it was noticeable»

Another topic that was addressed in the interview was seeing Juan Lebrón wildly encouraging his teammates at all times throughout the World Cup. To which Momo replied that he is the "Spiritual Leader" of the team and that he continually makes a team one of the most important things to face these tests that require the highest level and concentration.

There was also the issue of whether Lebrón overwhelmed at many times, but it was the opposite. They were not tactical instructions, it was all motivational, perfect to spread when you are playing everything.
