For his part, Capitani said: "We played very well and, to be honest, I have not seen the game table starting tomorrow." For Marcelo, this was his second victory against Gutiérrez-Sánchez.
Other names of the day were Martín Sánchez Piñeiro and Toni Bueno. Both will be for the first time in the Round of 16 round, after beating Álvaro Cepero-Javier Escalante for 6-3, 6-7 and 6-3. They already know that their next rivals will be Paquito Navarro-Matías Díaz.

In turn, those who added their first victory as a couple were Willy Lahoz-David Gutiérrez. After beating by 7-6 and 6-4 the Jesús Espejo-Javier Ruiz from Granada, they will meet in the second round with Ernesto Moreno-Javier Limones, who beat Tamame-Blanco for 6-3 and 6-1.
