Padel World Press .- As confirmed at the time of registration closing, the number of participants in the I Championship of Spain by Teams of Senior Veterans reached the surprising number of 307 enrolled in Male Category (over 50 years) and 140 in Female Category (over 45 years). In total, it should be noted that more than thirty clubs from different Spanish cities will participate in this competition, some of them with more than one registered team.

Juan Benito Pérez was the man appointed by the Spanish Federation of Paddle as Referee of this Championship of Spain. As he recognized in this interview with the FEP: «It has been a great satisfaction. You have to keep in mind that because of my age I am Senior and I feel very identified ».

The Malaga native, who had his first contact with this sport during the course carried out by the Andalusian Federation of Paddle In Seville the 21 of February of 2009, obtained the title in June of the same year and, since then, arbitrated uninterruptedly in tests of all the Provincial, Regional and National Categories.

For Juan Benito Pérez, this event is a great opportunity to see Seniors live playing at the highest level, competing for a whole weekend. «It is played by Club Teams, with what this means in terms of rivalry». This 'rivalry' between squads makes the mission of a referee, whether Minor, Absolute or Veteran, an intense task.

In his statements, the Referee Judge expressed his desire that both players and assistants enjoy and have the best possible time, since, in the case of Senior Veterans: "Intensity in the Competition is assured." The test, he acknowledged, has great appeal to the public because: "We will be able to see and enjoy games of great intensity and quality."
