Jeremy Gala: "Having won my first WPT matches did me a lot of good"

The fourth installment of the Journal arrives with which the Belgian player summarizes how his adventure is in our country. The member of Black Crown Team He has moved to Madrid to train with the best and to continue growing as a player. What will you tell us on this occasion?

Padel World Press .- The time has come to tell you again how my adventures are going in Spain ... And I have to say that I feel very happy for the four tournaments that I played during the last two weeks.

At the WPT Madrid Challenger I had David Clavero as a partner, a left-handed player with whom I complemented myself very well on the court. We won our second round Pre-Preview match in the third set tie break, and then, in the fight to get into the Preview, we lost against some very tough opponents 6-3 and 7-5, serving with 5- 5 on the scoreboard.

At the Murcia Challenger I shared the pitch with Julio Melón. We won in the second round of Pre-Preview by 6-4 and 6-4 after playing a very solid match. Then we lost against Rafa Méndez-Javier Valdés, a very strong duo and against whom we couldn't do much.

I also participated in the tournaments of the Estrella Damm Circuit that were held both at the Dreamfit and at La Finca. In both, I reached the final of the 2nd Category Draw, with Edu Nieto and Adrián Lafuente as teammates, with whom I completed several very solid duels. All these appointments gave me a lot of confidence but they also left me very tired ... And at the same time that I was competing I also trained both in the physical section and in the paddle tennis. Now, it's time to rest before facing the Costa del Sol - Mijas Open and the Madrid Federation tournament that will be held in La Moraleja.

The truth is that having won my first matches on the World Paddle Tour Circuit did me a lot of good and as always, both in defeats and in victories, I drew important conclusions. On this occasion, the most outstanding lesson that I assimilated is that the mental part is of vital importance ... Although I have been told many times (and I already have the experience of tennis), the truth is that you need a lot of confidence and many matches not to think on what you do wrong but you should focus on what can cause doubt and what does more damage to rivals. In many commitments during these two weeks I did not play at my best level but I tried to stay calm and find solutions that would allow me to fight to achieve victory.

That is why I would say that I improved a lot in the mental part.

For the following WPT tournaments, the objective will be to reach the Previews, especially now that I have seen that I was very close to winning in many games that, at first, seemed very tough ... You have to fight for each point and for each ball . That can make the difference that will allow you to reach the Previews (along with a bit of luck, lol).
