They are known as 'the Mythic'. They are and will be one of the pairs that will remain forever in the history of this sport for all they have offered on the track. In a great interview with the companions of World Pádel Tour, these two great players make a complete review of the current events of the Circuit and assure that they still have options to qualify for the Masters Finals.

Padel World Press .- It's been a long time since they joined their paths. It would be necessary to go back up to the 1998 year to see for the first time Gaby Reca and Seba Nerone in a test of the Professional Circuit. After separating for six years, 2013 decided to play together again and just a few months ago, with the numerous changes that occurred between the pairs of World Paddle Tour, they decided to continue with their personal and sports project.

The certain thing is that before the entrance in scene of Juan Martín Díaz and Fernando Belasteguin, Gaby and Seba got to be the numbers 1 of the ranking. We still remember the great moments that both couples left us in most of the finals of the beginning of the century.

In their second stage together, both marked the main goal of having fun, having fun on the track and trying to be as close as possible to the first four couples in the classification.

For all that they told the companions of World Paddle Tour, that no one doubts: A Reca-Nerone still has rope for a while.

With the numerous changes of couple that were registered, did not they also have the idea of separating? Have you had offers to do it?

Gaby Reca: No, we are very happy playing together. We are in a stage that we have to enjoy and sometimes we have to work to improve things. For some couples the results were not as expected and they decided to change. I have not received any offers because I think everyone knows that we are not changing partners.

Seba Nerone: I did not get the idea in my head. When I decided to play this year I had bet all season for Gaby. I did not receive any offers either.

To what do all these changes attribute in the middle of the season?

GR: Everything goes according to the results. The first couples did not have good results and that makes a domino effect. Juan Martín did not work with Mieres and they separated, which caused several couples to change as well.

SN: Couples seek to improve and there is little tolerance, because today you do not bet so much to consolidate a couple. There are not many sponsors that currently engage a couple; It is more individual.

They have lost with couples who fight for the eighth place in the ranking ... Do you see it complicated to get to be in the Masters Finals?

GR: No, I think that throughout the year we played well. Yes it is true that we have lost against some couples like Aday and Willy, but we have also been winning games. We must continue working and I trust that we will be in the Masters Finals.

SN: Yes, it is very complicated but it is not an unattainable goal.

After so many years together, do you think that other couples have already taken the measure?

GR: Yes, we all know each other. It is a generational change. We are clear about what we fight for. It is no longer to win but to be as close as possible to the first four couples. The couples evolve and there are young couples who play very well. It is normal for it to be a generational change.

SN: Yes, I imagine that together with Bela and Díaz we are the ones who have looked and studied us the most, but there is also the fact of renewing and following.

Have you tried another game formula?

GR: I am a very marked right-wing player and Seba inside out. We practice new things to evolve, but we do not change positions.

SN: We try to be more aggressive with everything that entails. You lose position sometimes, you are more exposed ... You can leave worse but we try to be more aggressive and at the same time look for the balance that is difficult.

They are the mythical ones, they have been in the elite of the paddle for a long time ... How many years are they left?

GR: What is certain is that every time we have less. We continue to enjoy, training with the same enthusiasm and we want to continue improving. Until it is lost and we see that we have poor results, we will continue playing.

SN: I particularly, while I have strength and desire, I will continue fighting.

How is the hegemony of Bela and Lima stopped? Did you expect something like that?

GR: I was not expecting such a marked hegemony but they are very strong, just like Maxi and Juan who have reached two finals. It is difficult for Bela-Lima to maintain that intensity, some party will lose. But today they are number one. I think that when the couples settle down they will not win all the tournaments.

SN: I think they are very solid and I think it will be very difficult to stop the dynamics. I imagine that they can come to a halt in a track that is fast as was the case of Valladolid, where Lamperti and Allemandi were close to winning. But on a slow track they defend better and are superior.

How are you seeing the circuit this year, in sports and organization?

GR: Every time it goes more and it does not stop improving. Things get better, it evolves and there are more and more people working. Past mistakes are solved and you can see that there is a desire to improve. All this makes the players dedicate more and with more enthusiasm to paddle.

SN: The organization grew and improved a lot. The good thing is that every year he does it more. In sports, I believe that the changes have made the dynamics better for the public and that they see more contested matches.

Gaby has been teaching classes to people from Monaco and in a short time the Monte Carlo Master will be played. How do you see the padel there? What do you expect from this Master?

GR: The tournament will be spectacular because of the assembly and the event in general. At the level of people who play, they are starting and there are more and more illusions and practitioners. Today padel is played in many countries. The tennis player, Johansson, told us that there were already 88 paddle tennis courts in Sweden. I think that in 10 years the paddle will have an interesting and very popular international circuit.

SN: Monaco is a very special place and it is the first time it will be played there. I would love to do it very well and aim for it. We'll get to Monaco well, but now I'm interested in getting better to La Nucía.
So are the 'Mythics'. Part of the history of this wonderful sport and still willing to continue exhibiting his class and talent tournament after tournament.
