New delivery of the interviews that the companions of the Spanish Federation is doing with the captains of the sets that will participate in the next edition of the Championship of Spain by Team 1ª Category. On this occasion, and thanks to Enric Sanmartí, we will get to know more closely the Real Club de Tenis de Barcelona 1899.

Padel World Press .- The Ciudad Condal can boast of having two representatives in the top male category ... And, besides the Real Club de Polo, they also have the presence of the Real Club Tenis de Barcelona 1899, which they have earned by right to be at the most high ... Although in Catalonia they have always been one step behind their maximum rival, in 2015 they have been able to 'snatch' the title that had been resisting for so long.

Do not miss this article from the FEP, in which Enric Sanmarti pointed out that although the goal is permanence, he does not rule out giving the surprise and going beyond the semifinals. With a block compensated and prepared for everything, the guys at RC Tenis de Barcelona are very excited about the challenge they will have to face in just a few days.

Do you repeat the team that last year gave you the permanence?

In principle we are the same team as last year. We have only joined the Extremaduran José Antonio García Diestro. The rest are the same base as the last four or five years.

How is the preparation going knowing that you have been immersed in the Championship for Teams of Catalonia?

Well, we have been lucky that the Catalan Championship has coincided and, having the same team, that weekend has given us the opportunity to compete in three qualifiers. Although we are basically the same team from last year, it is always good to return to competition, knowing that some players are also in their respective preseason.

How do you see the tournament? Who do you think are your greatest rivals considering I guess your goal is salvation?

Yes, without a doubt ... Our goal is still salvation and more if we consider how the scoring system is. In the first round we will play one of the fat teams, which today are almost unattainable for us, such as Arena Entrena, Vibor-A or Padelmania. With which, our efforts will focus mainly on the permanence where we hope that the tie is not as hard as last year, as we won 3-2 against Inter, with some tough matches.

You were champions in 2014 to go up to 1ª and the following year you fell in the first round against the champion. How do you sometimes live that roller coaster of triumphs and defeats?

In 2014 we were champions with quite a difference, as in 2012, but in 2013 we had to descend. Therefore, last year we cut that negative tendency to win the 2ª Championship and descend to the following year. What we have noticed in recent years is that in 2ª we are favorites and, in 1ª, we are among the four teams that will play to avoid relegation.

Last weekend you faced the Real Club Polo Masculino in the final of the Catalan Championship. How is that derby lived?

In the Catalan Championship we had been playing against them for five years and we had lost the five of them. To the sixth was the victory and we managed to win, although by very little. I think this 2016 is going to be the year that we are closer to the two level teams. On the one hand, we have been able to maintain the block with the addition of Cristian Gutiérrez and David Luque, who although they were not able to play with us last year, while the Polo has lost potential with respect to other years.

You have already told me that your goal is permanence. In that fight, who do you think will be a priori?

According to how the teams are almost sure we will play it ourselves, the 21 Network, the Peru Cáceres Wellness and PadelPoint La Nucia. Of those four, I think we are the best but also thought about it last year and we ended up winning the match because we did not descend in an agonizing way.

What would you highlight about the philosophy of the Real Club Tenis Barcelona 1899 Male?

The basic philosophy is to have good players, especially at the local level. In addition, we try to sign some player more flashy, like this year Cristián Gutiérrez, that for friendship, and the fact that his parents live here, he has been encouraged to come. Our goal is to spend a good weekend with friends, good vibes. Although we will try to win, we will always be accompanied by that harmony and enthusiasm that we transmit with each game.

To finish, Uri Botello, one of the members of this team, said: "This is the second year that I represent Real Club Tenis Barcelona and, really, from the first day all the teammates treated me great. I think having a club of this category in 1 National is very good. We have fantastic players, WPT final box like Cristián Gutiérrez, Enric Sanmarti, Rubén Rivera, José Diestro, mixed with players of the Catalan Circuit with a very high level. It's a pride to belong to this team !! "
