The month of January ends. A few weeks ago we have left behind the Christmas holidays and, with this, we are all recovering normality. The Professional Circuit is no stranger to this situation and the best players in the world begin to intensify their preseason ... Only 60 days left to start the 'Post Juan and Bela Era'.

Padel World Press .- The start of a new campaign is approaching that is full of doubts, unknowns and many unanswered questions ... And it is that to the changes in the competition format announced by World Padel Tour, there will also be a lot of expectation to see the performance of the new couples that will be formed in the face of what is already known as Year 0 DJB ... 'After Juan and Bela '.

After 13 campaigns imposing their law in the Men's Circuit, Juan Martín Díaz and Fernando Belasteguín decided to separate their paths and, with this, a new panorama opens up for both the players themselves and for the fans ... At least for a time there will be no big favorites , the 'World Throne' will look for new tenants and fans can continue to enjoy a unique show.

The last game of the Kings

The past 21 of December, after the dispute of the fight for the title in the Estrella Damm Masters Finals (in which they were defeated by Sanyo Gutiérrez-Maxi Sánchez), put the end point to which it will be remembered as the best couple of the history of this sport.

26's November 2001 is far behind when, in Mexican lands, Juan and Bela achieved their first triumph. Since then, both played 212 finals, with the conquest of a total of 191 titles. They have been 157 months of good news, of overcoming records, among them, the 21 months that remained undefeated between September of 2005 and May of 2007, winning 22 consecutive tournaments. It was Cristian Gutiérrez and Seba Nerone who put an end to that streak in the 2nd International City of Valladolid (6-4 and 6-2).

What will happen from now?

With the disappearance of this great couple, there is no doubt that many possibilities will open up for the rest and it seems difficult to make predictions ... There will no longer be Kings or Princes and, therefore, no one will have the favorites.

Juan Martín Díaz-Juani Mieres; Fernando Belasteguín-Pablo Lima; Sanyo Gutiérrez-Maxi Sánchez; Paquito Navarro-Matías Díaz; Cristian Gutiérrez-Maxi Grabiel. They are the first five pairs in the ranking and, a priori, the level is fairly even. Everything will depend on the rapid adaptation they have and, above all, how the current Masters can manage that handicap that is presented to them at the beginning.

On the other hand, we can not forget the rest of couples, some already known and others with great projection, such as the young Alejandro Ruiz-Matías Marina, or Ramiro Moyano-Godo Díaz.

Some have already begun their preparation; others still hold exhibitions in South American lands and are planning to start the preseason in early February ...

Only 60 days are missing for the emotion to return. Only two months left until the start of the third season of WPT. The show does not stop and we can only say ... Enjoy the Game !!!
