Surely, we will all have heard from time to time that in paddle tennis the important thing is not to fail, that we must avoid unforced errors and that it is essential not to give points to rivals ... But that, how can we achieve it ? The Kuumax team will give us below a series of guidelines to follow.

Padel World Press .- Most of the balls that are usually missed during a match are due to choosing the wrong shot, at the wrong time and from the wrong position ... Or what is the same: not making the right decision.

We misunderstand the concept, we want to imitate the blows of the professionals when our technique does not allow it. But we can try to imitate their decisions, the blows they make according to the situation of the game or the ball that they have to return, defend or attack.

Let's start improving mentally. Let's start with those days when we don't get a ball or we play right after watching a match on the World Paddle Tour Circuit, with the consequent disaster that occurs when we try to emulate our idols. To reverse the situation in those unfortunate encounters, we must shorten the court and go up to the net with the idea that our shots have a sufficient margin so as not to miss any ball.

It will be important that we begin to play more slowly, to use the balloons more, especially in the easy balls… Let's not try the final play; let's keep working on the point until he tells us that we can't play anymore and forces us to look for a more offensive blow. Of course, it will always be a clear advantage. Little by little we will regain the confidence that putting a lot of balls gives. We will feel better and better, with more security and confidence in our game. That will be the time to accelerate the ball a little more and try to score more points.

If instead of applying this logic, we continue playing as we started, most likely that day we go home with the feeling that we play badly to paddle or that every time we do worse.

Some tips to fail less in paddle tennis:

  • Attack the ball only when it is high (above the waist) and whenever we are well positioned.
  • Try never to fail the serve, the rest or the first volley. It will give you confidence at the beginning of the point.
  • Always maintain concentration and a winning attitude.
  • Encourage your partner at all times. That will make him encourage you too when you need it.
  • Play crossover. There is more distance and therefore more room for error. In this case, about 2 meters. Also, the network is a little lower.
  • Let's not complicate defending ourselves. Use easy punches when on defense.
  • Patience is the mother of all virtues.
  • Do not try to finish when the opponent's balloon comes high and last ... For that we have the tray.
  • When we go to try 'hard plays' we have to make sure we are in the right position to do so. Whenever we are uncomfortable, we will try to get her inside and not win the point.
  • Do not risk unnecessary balls. It is better to wait until the opponent fails or leaves an easy ball and can attack.
  • Do not play if you are injured or have discomfort. First, recover. At the first annoyance, stop.

The important thing is to play a high percentage of safe strokes to give the opponent "the fewest possible points." 'Playing Safely' will bring us closer to victory.
