Ariana Sánchez: «My minor stage has been a dream come true»

Ariana Sánchez, one of the great promises of the Spanish team that will play the World Juniors

The Xº World Championship of Minors is already underway and, from the Spanish Federation, they present us to one of the great players who will defend our country in this important event. Learn more about Ari Sánchez.

Padel World Press .- Together with her inseparable Marta Ortega, both have managed, on their own merits, to consecrate themselves as one of the reference names of the Padel de Menores. They have won everything, they have imposed their law in every event they have participated in and now, in their last World Cup, they dream of closing this cycle with the conquest of this prestigious title.

Like Marta, Ariana will have to combine her sports career with medical studies at the University of Barcelona. But, for the moment, he is already in Mexico to live what will be his third consecutive World Junior Championship. In the two previous ones, the victory was for Spain; in it, he hopes to help the victory be reissued.

On the verge of ending a wonderful stage, the Catalan is very excited about the possibility of closing this cycle in the best possible way. "For any athlete, wherever they may be, being able to reach the National Team to represent your country is the best thing that can happen to you. Moreover, when it is the last year, so we are going with the same enthusiasm as the first one who called us to play. At least in Minors it will be the last time that Marta and I play together, so we are very sad ... But well, you never know what can happen later. At this moment, it is clear that this will be the last tournament we will play together. "

Ari has always maintained a huge desire to achieve victory, hence both have gone on to win all the tournaments in which they have competed. “Each competition we attended, we went with the same enthusiasm as the first. That illusion to win is not lost, to win titles, to continue improving ... Hopefully we can close this stage in the same way we have done so far ”.

His season in the Circuit of Minors has passed in the same way he has done in recent years: with the victory in all the tests they have played. In World Paddle Tour he changed partners in the middle of the season but, still, he continues to search for the first time in the quarterfinal round of a professional tournament. "I started the year playing with Noelia, but then Valeria Pavón called me and that was something I could not refuse. Playing next to a person who has been great in this sport was a very nice project. Still, things have not gone as we thought. We have fallen in many first and second rounds. We hope that next season will be better season. "

For Ariana, a good partner first and foremost must also be a person with whom you have confidence, something that is essential to complete good matches and achieve results. "The most important thing is to have good vibes in the couple, that there are no bad faces ... Always go forward together, encouraging each other".

The Barcelona player has gone from winning everything in Minors to having to face defeats. To keep growing, try to improve day by day. "My best virtue in terms of hits, is the right volley, in addition to my always positive mentality on the court. I should continue to improve hits like the tray and be more mentally regular, not leave at times. "

Life for Ari is changing radically. He has decided to change his coach this year, leave his parents' house, and start his medical career. "I have started to study Medicine. My parents are doctors and that's what I like. I thought it would be easier to combine it but the truth is that it is quite complicated. Sometimes I see that I lack time to train with so many trips and classes. "

About his goals in Mexico, he said he wants to live a perfect trip and enjoy to the fullest. "As I wish for the World Cup, I would like to live an unforgettable experience, that we be a good team supporting each other since that is the best way to take us the trophy as a Selection".

When making a balance of the time spent in the Circuit of Minors, his response could not be more exciting. "This stage of Minors for me has been like a dream fulfilled. When I started playing paddleball I did not think I could win so many Spanish Championships and be part of a couple that I think will always be remembered. A dream come true, I never would have imagined it. "
