With a reportage published by our colleagues from the Spanish Commission for the Paddle Industry (CEIP) we can read how this sport has experienced a more than remarkable evolution in recent years in two of the most important countries of the Old Continent.

Padel World Press .- We would have to go back in time to 2003 to find the construction of the first paddle court in the Germanic lands. Then, another four passed until the second one arrived ... And it was necessary to wait until 2012 for the paddle to place its flag in the capital of Germany, with the inauguration of the Club Padel Berlin.

The truth is that the planted seed took a long time to bear fruit but, at present, it already blooms with a force that allows it to have vitality and constant growth. Without going any further, in 2014 there were a total of 17 clubs and 25 tracks spread throughout the national territory. The areas in which these facilities are located are: Bavaria (2), Berlin (3), Hesse (1), Köln (1), Lower Saxony (1), North Rhine-Wetsphalia (3), Rhineland-Palatinate ( 1), Hamburg (3) and Schleswig-Holstein (2). None of them have more than two paddle tennis courts.

As a fact to keep in mind, it could not be overlooked that in 2015 the number of clubs has been promoted to 23 and the number of tracks to 35.

For their part, the CEIP reminds us that this discipline took much longer to reach the United Kingdom. It was not until 2010 when the Padel England Association (PEA), an institution that was born with the aim of promoting and developing this sport in the British Isles.

Step by step, it seems that he is getting it and, in 2015, the paddle is a phenomenon in full growth. 16 clubs with more than 40 courts are already available and only seven venues have been opened this year. Undoubtedly, good proof of the excellent state of health that passes this sport is confirmed by the fact that begin to build tracks within prestigious and emblematic prestigious clubs such as Wembley in London (with 3 indoor and 2 outdoor tracks).

The forecasts for the 2016 are optimistic and predict a hopeful horizon for the paddle in these two countries.

Little by little, the paddle keeps confirming that it does not stop growing outside our borders ... Its internationalization is a process that has already started!
