Adrián Caviglia: "This 2018 is going to end up becoming the year of change"

Padel World Press .- The first two events of the year have already been played and, after them, my personal appreciation, the bet that Adrián Caviglia would make, is that this 2018 in the World Paddle Tour Tour It is going to end up becoming the year of change ... And it is that during it we will not only see the inclusion in the top squad of young players (or young promises that are already a reality) but we will also attend the good The result that the new pairs made up of an experienced player will give, let's call it that, with those newer players.

A good example of this we have in the 'surprise' of the appearance of the Argentine player Agustin Tapia next to Marcelo Jardim. The one from Catamarca practiced paddle tennis with self-confidence and freshness when competing against great pairs and gave clear signals to say that he is here to stay. It is a case similar to that of Alejandro Galán partnering with Matías Díaz, Franco Stupaczuk with Cristian Gutierrez (they have already played a year together), Pablo Lijó in the company of Maximiliano Grabiel, Martin Sánchez Piñeiro with Willy Lahoz and, the most renowned, Paquito Navarro with Juan Martín Díaz.

Already focused on the first tournament in Badalona, it should be noted that there were many games that were highly contested, which took place on a slow pitch, which forced us to adapt the game to it and have to suffer almost three hours in many of them ... panorama in the Pavilion of the Alicante Technification Center in the second appointment. The ball used is the one that is officially used for sea level as in Badalona but, despite this, the game continued slowly and suffered, with long and very physical duels.

With regard to the pair that I have to direct this year, the one formed by Maxi Grabiel and Pablo LijóTo say that a lot of work was done in the preseason but, at the same time, with the lack of maturity in competition. It was also our turn in the first round of the WPT in Barcelona to meet Tapia-Jardim where, after almost three hours of play, the victory fell for them with a 6-4 in the third set. We ended up feeling like we had a chance to win it but it wasn't given to us. In Alicante, we beat Peter Alonso and Aris Patiniotis in the first round by 6-0 and 7-6. In the second round we lost in two sets to Miguel Lamperti-Juani Mieres, a couple that we consider very tough, with time to shoot together. The final evaluation was positive and we are already waiting for the Zaragoza Open to continue growing and to achieve that maturity in the search for the best results for this campaign.
