Padel World Press .- As we unveiled from WPT, the Official Calendar will be released in the coming days but it is sure to consist of 4 Masters, 11 Open Tournaments and Masters Finals in Men's Category. We still have to define the amount of Masters that the girls will play, who already know that they will play nine Opens plus the Masters Finals.
The World Padel Tour Sports Directorate made public on the afternoon of the 16 in January the amendments to the Technical Regulations for 2015, which were agreed with the Players Commission comprising Fernando Belasteguin, Sebastian Nerone, Jaime Bergareche, Juan José Gutiérrez and Borja Yribarren.
And what will they consist of? From now on, The Professional Circuit will have two modalities of tournaments, not including the Challengers, which, as was announced a few days ago, will be carried out in coordination with nine Autonomous Federations.
Both in the Masters and Open events, the finals will be played to the best of three sets, as already happened in the Estrella Damm Masters Finals 2014.
- Masters: This campaign, from World Pádel Tour, incorporates this new category, which will award more prizes and points for the ranking. Unlike the Open, the Final Draw will be 28 pairs, so the first four pairs of the ranking will be exempt from the first round, entering directly in the second round.
The distribution of points in each round will be as follows:
The qualifiers of the Pre-Qualifying Phase will receive an extra bonus of 250 points, which will be added to the ones obtained in the Draw while the Qualified Pre-Previews will have a bonus of 75 points. Those players who access in both cases through a Lucky Looser will not receive said bonus.
- Open: They will remain with the same conditions of these first two years. The Tables will be 32 pairs, with the only exception that the finals will also be played to the best of three sets.
The distribution of points for the ranking will also be the same:
Pre-Prior to Pre-paid Bonus: 50 points. Pre-pay Bonus: 250 points.
For its part, the Estrella Damm Masters Finals will not suffer modifications. The first 16 players in the Men's Ranking will be classified and the 12 will be the best female pairs, with the same competition system.
These are some of the novelties that the World Padel Tour Circuit will present for an 2015 that promises to be exciting, with new couples and new scenarios ...
