Padel World Press .- The Padel Champions Cup still has no official location for its edition of 2018. The headquarters of Punta del Este, in Uruguay, was the option that had more possibilities to host this event but, as a few days ago, they revealed from the International Federation, There was no final confirmation required by the local authorities, which is why this appointment it can not be celebrated in the South American country.
In the message issued, from the IFJ they wanted to explain the reasons why the agreement could not be reached between all parties: "The Friends of Paddle Association of Uruguay (AAP) has made all efforts and possible efforts to obtain confirmation on the availability of accommodation and, in that sense, the offer that had been confirmed at first verbally, it has not been confirmed in writing and, therefore, has been canceled. "
However, despite the problems that have arisen, it was pointed out that the Punta del Este authorities expressed a clear interest in hosting the tournament in the next edition of the 2019 year.
El Champions Cup Tournament It was developed by the FIP team with the idea of bringing together in the same event all the champions of the previous year of the respective National Championships, National Circuits and National Rankings of the different countries that are part of their family. It will be a unique occasion in which to live the best international padel in the same location. As it was possible to know, the objective will be to carry out an edition each season, which will take place in the first months of the year.
The present edition is still standing, and from the Board of Directors of the International Federation are already in the phase of study and development of contacts to seek a new headquarters that welcomes the competition this 2018. Despite this, they wanted to be realistic and warned that this campaign may be complicated to meet the forecasts and may even have to delay the date of its conclusion.
