Technicians and technicians, by Javier Casadesús

Technicians and technicians, by Javier Casadesús (the role of the coaches)

Padel World Press .- After that first statement, the truth is that the problem is complicated if what we want is not to classify the players but, on the contrary, what is intended is to value the coaches. You might think that it would be enough to go to the same Ranking and check where the trained players are. But no, although that is the measure that is usually used in general, this criterion does not reflect reality.

The reason is very simple: the players have the same weapons to fight for a position in the Ranking (a shovel, a field of play and three balls.) It is true that the partner also counts, but another day I will defend why I think a professional always plays with a partner of his level), but the coach @ s not. The raw material with which they work is so disparate, that assessing the results in terms of quality (in all its aspects and facets) becomes a task full of nuances and on which analyzes will be carried out that will necessarily always be subjective.

Because, what has more merit, that the player A goes to the Final Draw or that the B wins the tournament? Perhaps, and not only perhaps on many occasions, it is more difficult to achieve the first than the second.

So for those in love with the paddle, I invite you to value the coaches observing those nuances that make them different: from the tactics used (and their ability to adapt), through the technical improvements they provide or, even, the analysis of small details like the enjoyment of a player in his way of walking while competing.

That test will give you clues as to whether a trainer is really getting the most out of his players' potential.
