On the balance sheet and its influence on the serve

Unlike the rest of the strokes that can be made on paddle tennis, the service is the only one in which the player has full control over the ball and also over the execution of it. In other words, it does not depend on the rival sending us the ball with a greater or lesser degree of difficulty. Do not miss this interesting post by Rafa Gálvez.

Padel World Press .- Once the technical part already has a certain mastery in the performance / execution of the service (we speak of a basic service), it is obvious that it is necessary to start, and as soon as possible, the corresponding transfer to the real game. The normal thing for it is that almost in the same unit of time, almost at the same time that the ball is struck, the player already starts the advance to progress towards the net zone where, together with his partner, the dispute will begin. point.

But there is a technical element that should not go unnoticed. Moreover, I think that should be worked to post to allow two things to the player: to add more weight to the ball in the strike and facilitate the action of advance or rise to the network area after it. In that way, it would gain some time to reach the height of the partner, already in that area.

In the photos of this post you can see Bela, Moyano and Lucia Sainz executing a serve with cut effect (the blade is so high as to facilitate an angle of attack to the ball down and forward) and as their respective balances, previous when hitting the ball, they are inclined forward as confirmed by the position of their bodies.

Now, watch out ... Do not overdo it or apply too much balance before impact as the body can lean / go forward so much that at the moment of hitting the ball it can be sufficiently delayed with respect to its ideal impact zone . If you go ahead with your body too much and you leave the ball behind, you will increase the possibility that the serve will not reach the desired objective, thus facilitating the return to the opponent.

This is a very relevant technical element that you have to work to go from having a normal serve to having a better quality with which you could even get to take the initiative in the dispute of the point.

I also take this opportunity to reflect again on a controversial aspect of the service that has to do with the #REGULATION... I insist, the hitting of the ball in the service can not be performed above the waist but there are many players who do it.

What does the Regulation say about it?

Rule 6. The service or service

d) At the moment of hitting the ball in the service, this must be at or below the waist and the player must have at least one foot in contact with the ground.

1 case: At what maximum height can the ball hit a player who flexes his legs at the time of the service?

Decision: To which at that moment his waist is located or below it.

We already talked about this in this post, with example included.

So #respetaelreglamento

Now to put it into practice.

Thank you very much to ARKO Photography - Nuno Vasconcelos y Padel Photos for the magnificent photos and of course Bela, Ramiro Moyano and Lucia Sainz for showing us how to do it correctly.

Greetings and #We continue learning of the best.
