The padel continues taking important and important steps in the United States. It is not a secret that, for some time now, this sport has begun its process of internationalization and, with it, one of the corners in which more is trying to bet is in the United States. With a certain tradition in Houston and Miami, now begins to settle in other parts of the country.
Padel World Press .- October was the month of 2013 when, from the United States, we received the news that the exclusive Beach Club of Santa Monica opened the first paddle tennis court in California. As our teammates from Planeta Pádel remember, the project started with Juanra Fernández, one of the founders of the club and a padel teacher with more than two decades of experience in the world of racket, as well as in charge of certifying teachers for the USPA in California.
They may not even think it. They may not even wait for it but, since its inauguration, not only has it been full but, in addition, it has given way to two other clubs are also encouraged to install tracks (to which several more will be added in the coming months) .
With great enthusiasm, and with a project that every time begins to have a more solid and better defined bases, from the USPA informed us about the latest events developed in California, among which the first interclubes tournament stood out. Called 'California Padel Cup', the champion of the same will compete in the future for playing the USA Padel Cup. It should be remembered that the winning team in this edition was the representative of the Beach Club Pádel Club.
On the other hand, already at the end of February, the Iº Federated Women's Tournament of California was also organized, in which the triumph corresponded to Colleen Lyon-Shannon Neiman (players of the Beach Club Padel).
To conclude, we can not ignore that other of the most important points is the remarkable growth that the paddle schools are experiencing in all the clubs, with a noticeable increase of both adults and children ... Sports lovers, with a sports culture very different from ours, many of them already dream of being part of the different national teams of paddle in the very near future.
