More than 20 years ago that the paddle arrived on American soil but, in all this time, its growth has been very slow. That is why actions such as the exhibition launched by World Paddle Tour are so important ... And that will help the hobby for this sport to develop more easily, especially in the areas of the country where they already exist clubs
Padel World Press .- Practitioners, followers, businessmen and curious people continue to enjoy to the maximum the great show that many of the best players in the world are offering at the '1st International Padel Exhibition'.
As expected, the event is being a success and, throughout the 1 Sunday of February, will live its outcome. In the morning the semifinals will be played and, in the afternoon, the fight for the title will take place. We can not forget that, before that expected game, fans will see an exhibition that promises to be spectacular: the one that will measure Juan Martín Díaz-Juani Mieres against Matías Díaz-Seba Nerone.
History of padel in the United States
If we want to talk about the origins and first steps of this sport in the USA, we would have to go back to 1993. At that time, Ed Thompson and Philippe Arnold were responsible for introducing the paddle in American lands and helped build the first track in Texas, at The Houstonian Club.
In turn, Thompson was the creator of the American Association and was in charge of it until 1998. Since then, it is Mike May who chairs The United States Padel Association, which, little by little, does not stop growing.
The southern zone of the USA it is the one that concentrates all the existing padel clubs. There are 6 tracks in three clubs in Houston (The Houstonian Club, Sports Club and The Club), in Miami there are 5 courts between AB Sports Club and Miami Paddle while, in Orlando, there is another track in the Florida Isleworth Country Club.
Note that more and more entrepreneurs are interested in this sport and, of course, it is expected that in a very short space of time there will be a large expansion of the paddle to other cities, especially in the south.
The paddle does not stop and we can only say ... Enjoy the Game !!!
