The last 14 of March, during the presentation of the new season of the WPT Circuit, Hernán Auguste pointed out that a series of measures had been adopted to adjust the regulations of the competition. Some of them affect the necessary requirements that a player must meet in order to participate in the tests that are part of their Calendar.
Padel World Press .- As you can see if you visit the legislation that World Paddle Tour Tour has in its official website, one of the most significant changes is that the position in the WPT Ranking is extended and the classification of the Spanish Federation of Paddle, also adjusting the parameters for the different Territorial Federations as well as for the Associations and Federations of other countries.
Through a news item published on its website, it was reported that the World Pádel Tour Board, a commission made up of members of the organization and players, decided to extend the participation of the players to the 160 position in the Men's Ranking (which reached the 145 in the 2015 season).
To make a summary, the situation would look like this:
Male Competition:
- The participation of the players is extended to the top 160 of the WPT Ranking.
- With respect to the Classification of the Spanish Federation, for the Master and Open tournaments, the places are reduced to the first 30 classified (for the 50 that did so until now).
- With respect to the Autonomous Federations, there are changes depending on the number of licenses. The places for the Federations of Andalusia, Madrid, Barcelona and the Valencia Community are expanded from 25 to 30 and the margin for Navarra and the Basque Country grows (from 12 to 15). On the other hand, it is reduced from 12 to 10 in Aragon, Castilla y León, Cantabria and Extremadura and from 12 to 6 for the rest of the Federations.
- Parameters for game players also vary. Junior and Cadet Categories, as well as professionals from other countries.
Female Competition:
- The participation of the players is extended to the top 65 of the WPT Ranking.
- Regarding the Classification of the Spanish Federation, for the Master and Open tournaments, the places are reduced to the first 20 classified (for the 30 that did so until now).
- With respect to the Autonomous Federations, it is extended to the top 20 positions in the rankings of the Federations of Madrid, Catalonia, Andalusia and the Valencia Community.
- They do not suffer alterations is the regime for the players of the Federations of other countries.
