Padel World Press .- With a brilliant act, masterfully directed by Andrea Ballester and held in the beautiful surroundings of the 50 Plant in the Torre de Cristal in Madrid, the launch of a vibrant competition that will take its first steps on the next March 22 took place in Barcelona and that will then travel through the main Spanish cities besides Dubai, Monte Carlo, Argentina and Portugal.
The event was attended by Javier Porras, General Director of World Pádel Tour; Federico Segarra, Director of Communication and External Relations of Estrella Damm as well as the players Juan Martín Díaz, Paquito Navarro, Majo Sánchez Alayeto and Marta Ortega.
In his words, Javier Porras highlighted three fundamental aspects of this new season: the changes in the format of competition, the new international venues and the multiple changes of couples that guarantee a greater spectacle. As he said: "We are facing the beginning of a season that will be marked in the history of the sport for several reasons. First, by the change in the format of competition, with the addition of two new categories of tournaments, the Masters and the Challengers. After the arrival of the Circuit to new destinations such as Monte Carlo and Dubai and, finally, in sports ... After 13 years winning everything Juan Martín Díaz and Fernando Belasteguin, both will be rivals this year ".
For his part, Federico Segarra once again highlighted Estrella Damm's commitment to this Circuit since its creation and, of course, placed special emphasis on the internalization that World Padel Tour will carry out this year.
To finish, it was the turn of the professional players. Paquito Navarro made reference to his new project with Matías Díaz, while Marta Ortega received the ovation of those present when it was announced that she had reached the age of majority. The young Madrid player, who with 17 years reached the final of the Finals 2014, said she faces this new year with great enthusiasm along with Lucia Sainz.
Majo Sánchez Alayeto, flaming leader of the ranking with his sister Mapi, said that "the goal is to maintain that position although it will not be easy" and stressed the importance of the girls playing a tournament outside of Spain.
The presentation ended with a fun hand in hand raised by Andrea Ballester, in which Juan Martín Díaz and Fernando Belasteguín 'saw each other's faces' for the first time. Both agreed in highlighting that it would be very positive to meet face to face on the track, because that will mean they will have reached the final.
Juan Martín assured that there will be "many champions this year, because the new couples have a very high level". In turn, Bela stressed the importance of being able to train with his new partner Pablo Lima. "Having Pablo in Barcelona and being able to train together is very positive for us. It's a feeling I have not experienced for seven years. "
