Padel World Press .- Three appearances in the quarterfinals of the big events and two finals in Challenger. That's the impeccable track record of a duo that has only been competing together for a year. Javi Ruiz y Uri Botello They dream of being among the best couples in the WPT Circuit and seem determined to achieve it with this start of the campaign in clear ascent.

From World Padel Tour they spoke with these two phenomena of their ambitions and longings. Among them, is to be part of the elite of the world padel. "We did not expect this start at all, although up to now it has been very promising. We hope it continues with the same line and that we continue to enjoy it, "commented Ruiz.

Uri Botello attributed the successes in what goes from 2018 to good end of 2017: "We finished last year very well. In Buenos Aires we played at a great level and I think that gave us wings to start this season with great enthusiasm. "

Said and done. The duo was thoroughly used so far this season and the results were very promising. "We knew that if we trained well we would arrive in very good conditions at the first tournament. I am one of those who thinks that in each test you have to go match by match but, in the end, you go believing a little more that you can win certain matches that you previously resisted, "said Uri Botello.

Both share the idea that It is the daily work over the years that guarantees results. "At some point it had to be reflected in some kind of result." Even so, none believes that their success responds to great tactical or technical changes, but rather to a mental change. "We've believed it a little more. What can we give and what can we be there? "

Uri himself confessed that l have serious doubts about whether to continue playing or not during 2017: "I seriously considered leaving because I was not enjoying it. However, in the end it's about assimilating the defeats and trying to do better for the next day. "

It's that serene attitude and with feet on the floor the one that most characterizes the couple who, with their spectacular game, seek to secure a place among the best. "This is a sport in which it is very difficult to keep up. The important thing is to train yourself and know what you can do. "

As for the expectations of consolidating in the top positions of the Paddle World Ranking, Javi Ruiz said he was not in a hurry. "It is true that there are people who have commented but I see it very far. From numbers to reality there is a world. I prefer to keep training hard with Uri and continue there. The season is very long and, if everything goes well, we'll believe it. "

That possibility does not scare Uri, who considered going: "Tournament to tournament is the best formula regardless of the results. Being in the Masters Finals would be a great prize but the year is very long and there are many appointments to play. "

Finishing the campaign like this, in the Masters Tournament, would be the dream of both, although they are also excited about the possibility of being with the Spanish National Team. And they are both hungry, prepared and Excited to continue improving.

Uri Botello and Javi Ruiz promise some very exciting months in the WPT.
