Padel World Press - La international paddle tennis federation will remain independent after the hostile form of takeover by the International Tennis Federation (ITF)

The International Padel Federation, the head of this sport worldwide for more than 30 years, reported yesterday that the attempt to absorb this sport by the International Tennis Federation it has not been effective thanks to rejection by members of the international tennis community.

What was the ITF looking for?

In the General Assembly held every year based in Glasgow, the International Tennis Federation presented a proposal in order to assume the government of paddle tennis, in addition to other sports such as pickleball. This proposal was rejected by the same members of the ITF.

Before this Assembly was held, the interested parties of both paddle tennis and tennis showed their total rejection of the absorption attempt, also with the support of the General Association of Professional Players. But in the end it was the tennis community itself that strongly opposed it.
