Padel World Press .- Just a few weeks ago we inaugurated a new section, The Paddle Technique, in which our intention is to explain and analyze in detail the most relevant technical aspects of this wonderful sport. An first post We collected the main aspects to take into account when executing 3 of the fundamental strokes of paddle tennis, such as the take out, the backhand and the forehand.

In this new article we will continue with our particular review of the basic strokes in paddle tennis and we will analyze the volley, the Smash or auction and the tray.

The volley in the paddle

The volley is a blow that is usually used to gain advantage over the rival pair and keep it at the bottom of the track, always with the objective of dislocating them and being able to take the point.

To properly execute a volley it is recommended that the beating is done with a cut effect, looking for the bottom of the track. It is usually recommended that the first time we use it during a play we send the ball to the center of the court, where there is more free space, and then start moving the rivals to get an advantageous position.

When we go to do it, we have to place the shovel at chest height with the arms always flexed, since then we will make the extension in the beating, which is very fast to require a short preparation. It is very important that we keep our legs bent and we are leaning slightly forward to be able to control the exit of the ball well.

The auction or Smash, the most aggressive blow in padel

The auction is the basic strike of attack by antonomasia. With this we seek to get a point directly, thus being the most offensive action that we can execute in a paddle court.

To do it effectively, and have more chances to succeed, you have to coordinate with the ball and make it as high as possible, placing us in a cocked position, extending the arm above our head and hitting with all our weight, lowering the arm at full speed so that the ball comes out strongly.

The objective is that the ball bounce near the serve line of the rival field, since this way it will be more difficult for our adversaries to return it.

The tray, one of the most characteristic 'basic hits'

It is a very recurrent type of hit and characteristic of the paddle since it serves to counteract mid-height balloons of the rival that we cannot finish with force… So from a tactical point of view it is quite important.

Of the tray it would be necessary to say that it is in a intermediate step between the volley and the top and, to execute it correctly, you have to stand on your side and hit the ball at shoulder height, with a topspin effect if possible.

To be effective, you should try to make the return go directed towards the crusader, with what we will provoke a double bounce on the wall and, with this, we will complicate to the maximum the defense on the part of our rivals.

We will be back in The Paddle Technique with a new delivery of the best tips and tricks regarding the technical aspects more determinants that may occur during the dispute of any of our parties.
