The Estrella Damm Masters Finals has started with strong emotions. Alba Galán and Marta Ortega, seeds number 6 of the tournament, have achieved an important victory after beating Carolina Navarro-Cecilia Reiter by 6-1, 3-6 and 6-3 while Patty Llaguno-Eli Amatriain had to say goodbye to the test due to the injury of the Rioja.

Already in the second set, Carolina Navarro-Cecilia Reiter were more relaxed and managed to level the contest with a partial 3-6.
With everything to decide in the third round, in which Carolina had to receive the attention of the physios of WPT, Marta and Alba became more aggressive again, played for a long time near the network and were very sure of themselves in the decisive moments and closed the shock by 6-1, 3-6 and 6-3.
Right afterwards, the sad news of the day arrived ... And it is that Eli Amatriain had to withdraw due to problems in his twin from the real game that, along with Patty Llaguno, were fighting against Lucía Sainz-Gemma Triay.
Very solid and successful in the opening bars, Neki Berwig's pupils were able to take advantage of the mistakes of their rivals to perfection to score the first set 2-6. However, if Lucía and Gemma are characterized by something, it is by not lowering their arms at any moment and, thanks to that, they equalized the score (6-4).
In the third and definitive manga, both Patty and Eli showed physical problems, a circumstance that their opponents realized. Shortly after Llaguno received the attentions of Jordi Riba, Eli had to retire between tears of the party, by some problems in his twin when they sent by 1-2.
With this loss, Cata Tenorio-Victoria Iglesias will take their place in Group A.
