Luigi Carraro, IFJ President, also ruled on the matter indicating that “Today a dream is coming true. […] One of the first things the president (Gilles Moretton) told me was that he wanted to organize the most important padel tournament in the world at the Roland Garros stadium. We shared that desire to create something important. Being here for a young sport like ours is really extraordinary. […] I want to thank the FFT, its president and Arnaud Di Pasquale for this gift and for the work they have done for a year. I assure you that, two years from now, France will be a great padel nation”.
Lastly, Arnaud Di Pasquale, director of the Greenweez Paris Premier Padel Major pointed out the importance of paddle tennis, since “It is a fun, accessible and friendly sport. The pleasure is immediate… We felt the obligation to undertake the adventure because the growth is exceptional. Tennis has its Grand Slam with Roland Garros, so it was clear that paddle tennis also had its Major. […] There will be a track on the Philippe Chatrier with capacity for 8.000 people. All tickets sold will give access to this track. It is also a new Roland Garros experience to live, in an exceptional environment”.
