Padel World Press .- Although the maximum level shovels require a significant outlay, firms often offer products at very competitive prices for the initiation in this discipline. The economic expense in facilities is not something that scares. The technical, tactical and conditional aspects also confer a great acceptance since the paddle has a high degree of adaptation to the level of the practitioner.

Therefore it is easy to understand how it is very common to see many new players trying out and being caught by this wonderful sport. This post aims to help those who come for the first time to a paddle tennis facility to practice our sport but completely ignore the operation of it and therefore The Rules of Paddle.

What should we know in our first experience?

Number of players:

Although it is common to see individual courts in numerous facilities, paddle tennis is a team sport where we play with a partner to face another couple. The individual tracks are more used to cover dead spaces in clubs, serve as a school track for children or initiation in adults, respond to the demands of people who want to hang out with a friend.

Game Dynamics:

1.- Padel matters the tennis scoring system. The matches are played to the best of 3 sets. The games follow the score of 15, 30, 40, Advantages and / or Equals

2.- Every 3 games finished we change sides on the track.

3.- The ball can be hit indiscriminately by any player in any area of the court. Sometimes we usually see new players trying to convince their partner not to play in their 'half'.

4.- In the paddle, for the ball to be considered good it must touch the ground before hitting the walls and / or fence. During the course of a point, the ball can hit walls and fence. The player can hit the ball with or without a previous pot but fulfilling the maximum of one pot to hit it.

5.- When is it good? the serve and how is it done? This is one of the most important Paddle Rules. The service is considered good if the ball bounces inside the corresponding box after being hit by the player who serves. As in tennis, the serve must be crossed, that is, the player who draws from the right half of his court must direct it to the square to his left of the opponent's court. Unlike tennis, in the paddle ball is not thrown over the head to perform the service but the ball is dropped to the side of the body and hit without the paddle exceeding the height of the waist the moment of impact. The serve generates doubts when the ball hits the side fence. The service can go to any area of the rival box but can never hit side fence after the boat. At each point we play the service we have two opportunities to put the ball in play.

6.- And when I take it out and the ball touches the net and goes to the other side of the court? If the ball after service touches the net and passes to the other side of the court, several situations can occur:

a) If after touching the net the ball does not bounce in the corresponding box it will always be bad.

b) If after touching the net the ball bounces in the corresponding box:

b1) The ball bounces once and does not touch side fence: It is considered void and the player has the right to repeat that service.

b2) The ball bounces twice touches lateral fence: It is considered null and the player has the right to repeat that service.

b3) The ball bounces once it touches the side fence: It is considered bad and the player does not have the right to repeat that service.

9.- If the ball hits me / hits after sending the opponent or a rebound in walls / gates, the point is won by the opponent.

10.- Occasionally, and accidentally, the ball gives two touches on my shovel before sending it to the other side of the track. In that case, I lost the point.

11.- I can never hit the ball if the paddle is not held by my hand and neither is it allowed to play competition without the paddle being held by the cord at the end of the grip. It is very important to get used to playing from the first day with the shoelace around the wrist. It is a very important security measure.

12 .- If the opponent hits the ball with force and:

a) The ball bounces on the court and goes out of the court. The point is considered won by the player who hit it but we have the possibility to go out and hit it inside the court and to the rival field before the second pot.

b) Boot, touch the wall / walls and / or fence and return to the opponent's field. The point is considered won by the player who hit it although we have the option to hit it even when it has passed the line of the network to its track.

13.- If we touch the net with my shovel, clothes or any part of the body after hitting the ball, the point is won by my opponent.

14 .- How do I know if a ball that bounces just at the junction between the floor and the walls / gates? The Rules of the Paddle say that a ball that in this situation bounces with an angle of 45 degrees is considered good. Our advice is that in these situations we should not argue with our rival. Everything is arranged by repeating the point.

I hope that with these small notes you enjoy and understand this wonderful sport.
