The facilities of the Pádel Nueva Alcántara Club became the headquarters of one of the most emblematic events of the calendar of the FAP. On this occasion, a new record of participation in a tournament was established, which once again demonstrated that this sport does not understand the ages. 

Padel World Press .- Between the days 11 and 13 of March, a number close to the 300 players (distributed in 88 male couples and 51 female), gathered in Malaga to compete in the current edition of the Andalusian Veterans Championship. In total, there were three intense days of great paddle tennis, which took place in a magnificent atmosphere.

In the men's competition, Sevillan Hector Perona and Fran Iglesias, based in Jaén, achieved the victory in the Category + 40 after overtaking Ricardo Alcántara-Miguel Doncel (double 6-1) in the final. In the Table + 45 there were no surprises and the seeds 1 number were imposed. The malagueño José María Peñafiel and the gaditano Jorge San Martín did not give options to Guillermo Pérez-David López (6-1 and 6-2).

Something similar was done by the Almerian Pepe Contreras and the Jiennense Lorenzo de Castro from 50 who, with firm steps, won by 6-2 and 6-0 by Javier Sainz-Daniel A. Rupcic. To finish, in + 55, the Seville Francisco del Castillo-Javier Ysern gave the surprise and beat Amador Muñoz-Juan Francisco Gutierrez, the big favorites, by 6-2 and 6-3.

As for the Women's Team, Malarena Lorena Lizarza and Almería Noelia Pérez won the title in + 35 when they beat Mª del Mar Piqueras and Delfina Guerrero by 6-2 in the final clash and left due to injury. In the + 40 test, the victory went to the Esther de Jaime from Córdoba and the Lourdes Gómez from Malaga, who beat Mª del Mar García-Lorca-Carmen López for 6-1 and 6-2 while, in the Category of + 45, Librada Navarro from Malaga and Rosario Barea from Seville were much superior to Ana Melgar-Inmaculada Delgado (6-1 and 6-3).

In + 50, Mª del Mar Espinar from Almeria, and Patricia Herranz from Seville, had to be fully employed to overcome Mª Carmen Orihuela-Carmina Fatou for 6-1, 3-6 and 6-2.
