There is a new delivery of interviews with which the Spanish Federation We are still presented to the preselected players to defend our country in the 13th World Championship by National Teams. On this occasion, they will help us to get to know more closely one of the young 'realities' of the Professional Circuit.

Padel World Press .- Although he was born in Argentina, he has been living in Spain since he was barely a child. With a great talent and a magic that make him special, the member of the StarVie Team is one of those different players, with resources and category more than enough to decide any game.

In his stage of Minors left countless samples of his potential, to win almost everything. Among them, he won a World Cup in 2011, along with his former teammate Alex Ruiz, with whom he also achieved his first two professional titles: the Challenger 2015 Córdoba and the Lisboa Challenger 2016.

In the final stretch of this season, he joined his path to that of Gonzalo Rubio, another young promise with which throughout his career he has maintained vibrant duels.

Do not miss this interview granted to the FEP team.

Congratulations for being preselected. I guess very happy to be your first call for the Absolute Selection.

Yes, the truth is that very happy. I have played with Spain in all the categories of minors and, therefore, now being shortlisted with the Absolute is a luxury.

You have won World Cups in Minors ... How do you remember that stage of minors and those dates?

They are spectacular memories ... What's more, there were players with whom I share a shortlist this year, such as Paquito Navarro, Chiqui Cepero, Juan Lebrón, Gonzalo Rubio or Alex Ruiz among others. Therefore, I am very happy to continue that journey with them and I do so thinking that this Selection can aspire to everything.

As you said, you are part of a great team, in which you combine veteran and youth. How do you see the National Team this year?

I see it, how I have commented to you, as a serious aspirant to everything, in a position to win. That mix of young players but who have been on the World Paddle Tour Tour for some time, with other more experienced players, I think it is very positive and it can give us many joys.

Therefore, you believe that the top favorites remain Argentina. Or are we 50 to 50 with the albiceleste?

I think Argentina is still a bit more favorite because it has won more tournaments and because of the names of the players… But in a Championship with so few points, Spain can form pairs of many guarantees to play face to face against them.

The season has interspersed quite good times with others more lax. You started with Alex Ruiz, with whom you won the Lisboa Challenger. It is possible that the defeats in the final of the Championship of Spain and some in the first round, like the last one in Valladolid, motivated the end of that union. Now you will play with Gonzalo Rubio. How have you experienced this start of the season and how do you see this second half next to Gonzalo?

Well I have to say that I, the truth, is that I consider that the season with Alejandro has been quite good. Make quarters winning the couple number 2 of the moment, conquer a Challenger and all this after having been eight months injured, is a success. The decision to change did not come from me, but hey, now I'm happy to play next to Gonzalo, with which I am training to fit as soon as possible. In these moments I am very eager to continue, to have aspirations and get good results.

A wish that Matías has both personally and collectively for the end of the season in which there is also the World Cup?

In this part of the season, what would make me more excited would be to be called up with the National Team to play the XIIIº World Championship. I value it very much since I've been representing Spain for fourteen years.

From the Federation it was recalled that the news related to the XIIIº World Championship by National Teams can be followed through the hashtag  # MundialPádel16 .
