Preparations are now ready for the dispute of a new edition of the Spanish Championship Sub'23. The slopes of the Club Pádel Home de Salamanca will welcome the dispute of a test in which many of the firm promises of the national padel will fight for the conquest of a prestigious title. The show and emotion are assured.

Padel World Press .- If we look at the Women's Chart, it should be noted that Alba Galán and Marta Ortega will try to revalidate the titles they already obtained in the editions of 2013 and 2014. With the firm intention of making good the saying 'There are not two without three', the Madrilenians dream of placing a new title in their already full showcases.

Shortly before the start of the event, both spoke with their colleagues from the Spanish Federation, with whom they shared their feelings, objectives and challenges. Don't miss this interview.

How do you face the next Spain Sub'23 Championship?

Alba Galán: Well, with a lot of desire and more being the last year in which I will be able to enjoy this championship. I really want to try to do my best and what better way than to try to take this tournament.

Marta Ortega: With great enthusiasm and with a lot of desire to play it. It is by far one of my favorites. I am looking forward to it!

Will that responsibility weigh when trying to revalidate the title?

AG: It is always difficult to try to revalidate a title, although you always try to win again something that makes you very excited as it is a championship of Spain.

MO: I do not know if the word is' it will weigh but, of course we will have it in our heads. We do not take it as a pressure but we see it as a motivation to try to revalidate our title.

From the FEP we believe that this 'bridge championship' between Minors and Absolute is complicated, since many players leave the competition. In what way would you boost this competition?

AG: You could do a competition at the Sub'23 level both in the provinces and in the Spanish Federation. I think that in that change from Minors to Absolute would be increased a more real ranking, more tests, more level and with open competition for more people, who maybe do not sign up for older competitions for not being prepared. I think it would be a great help and it would be great for all those who come from minors and those who remain at that stage.

MO: In my opinion, many players stop playing due to lack of resources and lack of motivation. There is an interval of 5 years, between the 18 and the 23, in which many players almost disappear from the National Circuit. If we take into account that the Professional Circuit is very hard and demanding, it makes other alternatives look for. In my opinion, a Sub'21 Circuit could help make that 'bridge' between Minors and the Professional World.

Could you tell us what is your training plan to face this Sub'23?

AG: We tried between my partner Martita Ortega and me to train together as much as possible, playing games and training with our technicians to understand each other in the best possible way ... Although we understand each other very well because we play many times together.

MO: As in any other championship. My way of training is always with intensity and interest, but if it is true that having such a desirable tournament, like the one we are going to play now, is even more motivating. We will try to train as much as possible together. In addition, we will play a game to adjust as a couple and then ... To try to do our best.

The level of play in the female category is increasingly high, in part and we understand that thanks to your personal preparation and a good base in Categories of Minors. Could we have even better results?

AG: I believe that we always try to give the maximum of ourselves and with this I believe that I speak on behalf of all the women who carry out this sport. We try to come to a game now much more aggressive and colorful and it seems that this is giving a lot to talk about. Now we try to give everything of itself as I said to have the best results in all competitions.

MO: Improving is always a must ... Everything is improvable and you never train enough. The base with which the Spanish paddle counts as you say is very good. That must be maintained above all because a good base gives you success in the future.

Do you think it would be interesting to open this Sub'23 competition in the World Cups?

AG: I think it would be a great initiative to make this step from Minors to Absolute easier and simpler. It could be followed with a more real Ranking and a high level of play and matched at the age. It would be a great idea to be able to continue competing at very high levels and become better.

MO.: Yes, it would be very good to increase the number of categories in the World Cups, because of the theme we have previously said of encouraging younger players to keep playing. It would be an impulse to maintain our quarry !!!!
