Padel World Press .- They keep going more in their game and in their feelings. Tournament after tournament, Marta Marrero and her partner continue to approach that great level that led them to be the 1 number of the Ranking of Women's Paddle... And a good example of this was in the Andorra Open, an appointment in which they deployed a bright paddle and in which they showed a very outstanding image.

When it came to talking about the excellent role played in this event, the Canarian player stated: “For me, one of the keys to making this tournament go so well was the adaptation during the days prior to the conditions in Andorra. We spent 4 days training at Anyos Parc, 1200 meters high. The ball there, with respect to Barcelona, flies ... You have to make adjustments in the blows, shorter movements, then you drown and less oxygen enters you ... I think it's important to get used to those details. "

His path to the grand final was not easy: “We had a tough draw from the last XNUMX, round in which we faced Delfina Brea - Ana Catarina Nogueira. I think that benefited us because it made us enter competition and in tense situations from the beginning. That allowed us to face the important moments with more confidence in the final stages ”.

Undoubtedly, his career and his game is going from less to more with the passage of tournaments: "I think our level is improving after trial ... That is something that is giving us confidence to feel able to take hard games forward . In the semifinals, against Lucia Sainz - Gemma Triay, we were able to solve a very tough first set and we got up in the third set after missing many opportunities to go on the scoreboard in the second set. We are recovering our essence: Never give up, fight and trust. "

In her analysis of the grand final, Marta Marrero said: "It was a shame not to have been able to take advantage of the 1-3 advantage in the third set ... But what makes the women's paddle exciting is just that. Nobody gives up and we are able to overcome any adverse situation and more when we are talking about the 1 number. "

The most positive reading that they drew from their visit to Andorra was that: "Our sensations on the track are getting better and better. As you can imagine, our goals as a couple are precisely to meet again on the field as a team. It is in this way that we enjoy every time we compete. As much Alejandra as I know that the results thus arrive alone: Fighting and leaving us everything in the track ".

How would Marta Marrero define the current situation of women's padel?

As he pointed out: “The women's paddle, said by all professionals, coaches and fans, is in a great moment. The evolution has been great, the level of competitiveness is increasing and, from the first round, you can enjoy extremely disputed matches. The following of the spectators is increasing, filling, like the boys, pavilions of 3000 - 5000 spectators. Television has helped a lot and the fact is that both Gol, with its broadcasts, and the great WPT Live Streaming are helping to bring this sport closer to the fans ”.

Asked about the possibility that in 2019 two Professional Circuits can 'coexist', she assured: “For the sake of paddle tennis, I don't think that having two circuits is the best. There are not so many male or female players for that to work ”.

With her mind set on the Lugo Open, Marta Marrero took the opportunity to: "Encourage the Galician fans to come see live professional padel ... I'm sure they'll enjoy a beautiful show !!".
