The Black Crown player analyzed her step with Martita Ortega for the Valldoreix Grand Slam, the highest level event of the season in the Catalan Circuit of Pádel.

Padel World Press .- The imminent start of the 2014 season in WPT is getting closer. The players continue to finalize their preparation and, in that sense, Marta Marrero spoke with Padel World Press to describe what her feelings were in the last big event she played.

"The Grand Slam Valldoreix presented a table with many players of the Professional Circuit, in which there were no missing twins Sánchez Alayeto (couple number 3 of the WPT) or Alejandra Salazar-Icíar Montes (current number 4).

At first, everything seemed to indicate that Martita Ortega and I would have to cross in the semifinal round with Icíar and Alejandra. However, an injury to the second meant that they had to retire and, therefore, our rivals were Gomis-Ferrari.

Already in the fight for the title match, we crossed again with Mapi and Majo, the Atomikas Twins, with whom we already lost in the semis of Masnou's Grand Slam by 7-6 and 6-4.

On this occasion, and from the 10: 30 hours, we measured our strength in a meeting that had a large audience presence. The fans encouraged us in the same way to the two couples and gave us even more strength to give ourselves to the maximum.

Despite our defeat, I am very satisfied because the attendance of female followers of the Catalan Circuit is growing. I think a very important reason is the presence of pairs that are very high in the World Pádel Tour ranking and that, without a doubt, the level of many Catalan players is going up a lot.

The first round of the WPT Circuit 2014 season is approaching ... And we are all very keen that the competition is considered to have started.

Marta Marrero. "
