In Padel World Press we have been able to speak with one of the coaches of the coaching staff of the current 1 number pair in the world of the Men's Ranking. Do not miss the interview that our colleague Daniel Gamarra made to one of the reference women of the world padel.

Padel World Press .- Director of the Stars Paddle Club, this Argentine is one of the people who make it possible for the world's number 1 couple to have won almost all the matches they have played during this season.

With the full and absolute confidence of Fernando Belasteguín, we wanted to know her more closely and share with her her vision and way of understanding this wonderful sport.

When did you start playing paddle tennis?

I come from the world of tennis, I played a lot when I was a girl. In the paddle I have 8 years.

What is your passion for this sport?

In general, I am passionate about paddle tennis. And he does it, above all, for his team play and for the good atmosphere that is generated by watching people of all ages play.

How are you as a player? What is your best shot?

I feel more comfortable in the network than defending. My best blow is the right volley. I am characterized for being a player who never gives a ball for lost, for being someone who gives everything on the track.

Right now you are in position 21 in the Catalan Ranking… What is the goal for this season?

My life is more focused on my role as a coach… If I still have time to play a tournament, the goal in these is simply to be able to enjoy them to the fullest.

How was the time when Bela proposed that you be her coach?

I don't remember the exact day he proposed it to me, but I do remember that that day a huge feeling of emotion invaded me. I didn't expect the number 1 in the world to come looking for me to be part of his team. It was, without a doubt, one of the happiest days of my life.

How is Fernando as a student? What is it that you like the most about him?

For me, Fernando is the ideal student: he is a faithful, constant, fighter, hard-working and intelligent athlete and, in addition, he has clear and consistent values. What I like the most about him is his involvement in sports and the values he transmits to the team. In turn, he has a great sense of humor, which is appreciated in training hehehe.

What does Fernando have that makes him so special and different from the rest of the players on the Circuit?

I have met few people in my life who have all the qualities I have mentioned before. That is something you don't get at all often.

What are the best moments you have lived next to Bela? How is Fernando off the track?

In five years I have lived many moments with Fernando and luckily almost all of them have been good. Off the track Fernando is a friend, someone transparent, fun, as I say he is part of my 'urban' family.

The few times that Fernando loses, how does he wear it? Have you ever reached some unmotivated training or with less intensity than usual?

Fernando has better and worse days, like everyone else, but the key is that he always tries to give 200% no matter what happens. Whether he wins or loses, he has the same goal, which is none other than to keep working to improve.

What do Pablo and Fernando have in common? What is the difference between them?

The most basic differences are: left-handed; Brazilian-Argentine, ASICS-HEAD…. But jokes aside, in view of the results, it is that their differences fit well, for that reason I would speak of 'complementary differences'.

Are Bela and Pablo as competitive in training as in games?

They are clear that 'the matches are won before, training. They take their work very seriously, watching them train is like watching them in a game, they go for it.

What does it mean for you to run the Stars Pádel school in Barcelona?

For me it is a great responsibility, a pride and a true honor that Fernando and the rest of the partners count on me to carry this project forward. It is a challenge and a pleasure to work on what you like, especially being in this club where paddle tennis is lived with great passion.

What do you like most about your job as a coach?

The truth is that I like everything that being a coach offers me: accompanying the players from start to finish, preparing for training sessions, before and after games ... I always try to work with the aim of getting the best out of each one from them.

How are you out of your professional life? What do you like to do?

I try to make the most of my free time. It is enough for me to be with my family, share moments with friends, read a good book, travel, watch a movie or simply get lost in the streets of the city… All this makes me disconnect and charge my batteries a lot.

What message would you like to convey to the fans?

First of all, thank Pádel World Press for this space. Of course, thank the people who let me daydream doing what I like, JustTen Pádel, ASICS, Catalan Padel Federation, Star's Padel, and the players who trust me, Fernando Belasteguin, Pablo Lima, Martin Sánchez Piñeiro, Marc Quilez… Also to the members of Star's Padel and, of course, to my friends and family.

Stay very attentive to the pages of Padel World Press because, in the next few days, we will offer you our talk with Fernando Belasteguín, in which he will talk about his relationship with Marcela Ferrari.
