The facilities of the Tennis Club 5 Pádel Indoor León vibrated with an exciting day of competition, which defined the titles of a meeting in which many of the best young players of the national padel brought out all the talent they carry inside.
Padel World Press .- After three days full of excitement and exciting duels, the Spanish Championship Sub'23 reached its decisive round, in which equality was again very present, as demonstrated by the fact that the favorites ended up doing with the victory in three sets, both in the Men's and Women's Drawings.
As they told us from the Spanish Federation of Paddle, in the case of the boys it is very possible that Coki Nieto and Javier González ended up accusing the weariness that they dragged from the round of quarters.
In that sense, the final was too fast since both pairs played a very aggressive game, in which incredible points followed one another with unforced errors ... In the first round, Nieto-González (seeds number 5) were more successful and took the lead on the scoreboard (3-6).
However, in the second set there was the reaction of Ale Galán-Peter San Román who, with a firm step, knew how to recover from a blow received and endorsed a resounding 6-1 to their rivals ... That was the previous step to what happened in the third set, in which a 6-2 gave the title to the big favorites.
It should be noted that the four finalists were players of the StarVie Team, all of them trained in the Damm Foundation directed by Jorge Martínez.
For their part, the fans expected a women's final full of emotion and, of course, the show offered by its four protagonists was superb. In two hours of game, the large audience that gathered at the premises of the club from Leon did not stop applauding some players who gave themselves to the maximum, without reservations, to conquer this prestigious title.
Marta Ortega and Victoria Iglesias, the favorites, knew how to make the most of their opportunities at the beginning of the game and put themselves ahead (7-5). In spite of it, Ari Sánchez-Tamara Icardo did not lower the arms and, in the second sleeve, they obtained and maintained a break that helped them level the contest (4-6).
In the third and final set, the quality of Marta and María Victoria shone in all its splendor and that helped them achieve the final 6-2 with which the commitment was closed ...
As a curiosity, note that Martita inscribed her name in the list of winners of this competition for the fourth consecutive year (the three previous ones with Alba Galán, her regular companion in the World Paddle Tour Circuit).
The next big appointment of the Calendar of the FEP It will take place at the end of August when, in Zaragoza, a new edition of the Bullpadel Spanish Children's Championship will be played.
