The Clínicas J. Cuenca team once again surprised us with one of their always interesting articles. In the last weeks, we have seen numerous retreats due to injury in different tournaments of the World Paddle Tour. What can they be? What should be done to prevent them? Do not miss this report.

Padel World Press .- At this point in the year we are seeing how more players are victims of injuries or discomforts that harm their challenges this season. As is evident, there are fortuitous injuries that cannot be prevented but, in this article, we refer to other types of injuries, those caused as a result of the demands that have to be followed to achieve the objectives set at the end of the season: to be the first in the Ranking, not losing positions, improving the position of the previous year, being able to enter the Master Finals, etc ...

To achieve this in the two short months of competition that remain causes to force, sometimes in excess, the professional. The number of hours of training, competition, clinics, etc. must be taken into account. that have accumulated over the previous seven months. Hence the importance of these three points:

- Have a history of injuries and discomfort.

- Be very attentive to the alerts that the body sends us.

- Increase the controls of the physiotherapist.

The majority of the injuries referred to are muscular, being their recovery slower in many of the cases due to the wear deposit of the musculo-tendinous system.

In turn, we can not forget the psychological factor that generates anxieties to achieve the objectives set, which leads to an excess of training or a decrease in rest time.

Rest is part of training

In our opinion, the importance of success lies in programming in a very meticulous way the year based on the calendar so that, in this last phase, the objectives do not precede the physical condition of the players and, with this, they can dedicate a last peak of effort during these last weeks.

In short, at this stage of the season having done a good annual planning, it is more reasonable to prioritize in quality rather than in the amount of training.
