Padel World Press .- We continue in the search for the perfect elements to practice our favorite sport and I say elements because, from here, we want to show you everything that we usually use on the tracks or outside of them but that are in line with the practice of paddle.
This time, we opened the can of PALETEROS, that product that has been improving year after year and in which, for me, it is indispensable that its usefulness rubs the perfection ... If in addition we add a great aesthetic to it, better than better. Who does not like to wear even to practice sports?
In this article we will introduce you to a Kata brand pallet that, of course, has not left us indifferent, neither for its design nor aesthetics nor its usefulness. Something will have when it is used by Willy Lahoz, current number 11 WPT Ranking.
Let's start with the product analysis.
In the hand, freshly removed from its packaging, we notice that we are facing a large pallet, with measures of 55 cm long, by 32 cm high and 30 cm wide. For me, the best impression of the paletero at first sight is, in addition to its size, its aesthetics.
Undoubtedly, I think that the brand has thought about getting a product that has a lot of style using basic colors such as white (as the main color) and black. At the same time, they have equipped the pallet with a very stylish fabric, which we could define in a shallow way as 'skin imitation', which makes it beautiful but above all, and that is what we look at most in terms of the analysis of the products, allows the fabric to be very useful. By having white as the main color we can (and we will not be wrong) to think that it will take a short time to get dirty, but with this type of fabric, it is enough to use a damp cloth to make it as clean as the first day.
It is true that this type of fabric does not get along well with the scrapes as other materials 'more battle' ... However, it is more likely that we dirty the pallets to hook or tear with something, so it is a first detail that we approved with a note
As for its usefulness, we already advance that all are virtues, with a single 'but'.
We start with no less than TWO compartments for shovels (or other things, since we will put another utility that we give it on occasions). Both are 'thermos' to maintain the temperature of our blades despite the cold or heat want to punish them and, in addition, they have a detail that not all offer us: the interior thermo material is protected so that it does not deteriorate with the friction of the blade or of the same use that is given to it. If it does not have this protection, said material would be cut or cracked little by little, until it becomes ineffective. Great detail. In addition (and here comes a personal utility that we share) since we have two compartments for thermo scoops we can use one, if we have enough, to keep that bottle, fruit or other object that we want to maintain its temperature during the game. It is a good utility and it works. Many of you have already used it that way.
We went to its main opening. It has a wide mouth which is how we like it, with a U-shaped reinforced zipper closure. If we open the 'U tongue' entirely, all its interior capacity will be exposed, giving a quick, comfortable and direct access to all corners of the same. Undoubtedly, that is something that we consider essential in all paletero: accessibility.
This space brings with it the typical 'hard board or cardboard' floor accessory to reinforce it, making what we keep inside does not stick out as a bulge or peak through the outer fabric.
Next to the floor reinforcement, inside we find an auxiliary bag of those that are usually used for dirty clothes, which is independent of the rest of the pallet ... Of course, it has an inside hook to have it tied, always located by hand, preventing it from going loose by the paletero to free will.
The width of the interior of the pallet is magnificent, thanks to the almost square shape of the pallet in all its extension and, above all, to the opening of the main mouth. Without a doubt, at least for us, it is a joy.
In the upper part of the pallet on the outside, we find another detail that we consider essential in any pallet ... the shoe holder. With opening and bag sealed to the pallet, with ventilation grid and a very large interior capacity, will make our shoes go in optimal conditions and that does not affect or mix with the rest of things we carry. We repeat: something essential.
Once we review the exterior of the pallet, we want to highlight another detail that may go unnoticed but for its simplicity and of course, for its usefulness, we like it and it is not common: some plastic blocks in what would be the base of the pallet for that when we leave it on the floor these blocks act as legs and avoid direct contact with the ground. A detail to highlight. Simple and useful.
The pallet consists of carrying handles hanging back to backpack mode that are very comfortable ... That is achieved with the much needed padding in this type of handles so that it does not harm our body. In other models we have seen that the placement of these handles come at the opposite end to the opening of the main entrance to not disturb the access to this space but, in this case, we understand that this is not the case due to the tacos that we defined in the previous section, which make it impossible for them to be placed there. We think this option is a good option because, in addition, it generates that as a backpack it will be the closing of the main mouth stuck to the back and will achieve a subjective security that due to bad closing or carelessness, what we have saved will fall.
Likewise we observe that in this model the typical big handle does not come to be able to transport it hung to a shoulder, does not stop being one more option but not absolutely necessary, therefore we will not mark it as a "but" although to cover all the preferences could come as an extra accessory. We like the back. All the seams of this and other parts of the pallet are very well finished and reinforced especially in those points that due to the use and the weight a continuous pressure is exerted. Bravo.
And finally we end up with a pocket or compartment on the opposite end of the bag that, in principle, should serve to keep those personal items that we want to deposit and have on hand such as the phone, house keys, car, etc ... And this is where we find the only mole that we can get out of this magnificent product. This small pocket without depth can not contain inside with what anyone can usually carry in their pockets. Its capacity is very limited, it is not practically useful. As we say, it is the only mole that we can put to this great product that in the rest is very well achieved.
In summary…
It is a paletero that aesthetically meets note. Aasic colors but fades elegance with its outer fabric, which also makes it functional by being able to clean it easily with a damp cloth.
As for dimensions, we prefer that they are large and with this we have left with a great taste. It is very broad with an almost square shape, without being so, which helps to make its interior spacious and accessible, something to which the opening of its main compartment, in the form of a 'U' and with reinforced zips, is directly involved. Fundamental and FUNCTIONAL detail.
The seams and zippers are very well finished and reinforced, something that will undoubtedly be positive for its durability. We've put it to the test for months and it's still new.
The two pans thermos are the best we've seen, with a capacity of one shovel each (two if you squeeze a little) and with a protector for the thermo fabric as a detail that we love.
The independent shoe rack, something that we consider fundamental in any pallet, is wide, comfortable and with the grid in its typical exterior closure to prevent odors from accumulating.
Padded handles on the back, very comfortable and accompanied with a bag for dirty clothes. Well prepared.
The lonely 'but' we find is that pocket for belongings, which knows little to us. Small, without depth, with a small network that altogether seems completely insufficient.
In general we are delighted with the paletero. If what you are looking for is a large, elegant pallet with high functionality ... Without a doubt do not stop looking at what Kaitt presents to us.
