Padel World Press .- This Christmas has been very special for Juani Mieres and Miguel Lamperti. And is that both have been infected by the great illusion that has caused in his city the announcement that two of his 'prodigal sons' would unite their ways and would share the track from this campaign.
With a smile drawn on his face, Miguel Lamperti He recalled: "The people who have followed us always stopped us on the street to congratulate us and wish us luck."
They really want the season to start, the first matches to arrive. That is why they decided to shorten their stay in Argentina and, since the last 22 in January, they started working under Gustavo Pratto with the aim of joining as a couple before the first round of the WPT 2016 Circuit.
As he recognized Juani Mieres before the companions of World Paddle Tour, 2015 was a strange year. After six years with Pablo Lima, during the last season he had two companions. He started with Juan Martín Díaz, with whom he did not find the good feelings and, therefore, both decided to say goodbye at the end of June. In the case of Mieres, his destiny was linked to that of Sanyo Gutiérrez, with whom he conquered the Estrella Damm Madrid Open and with whom he qualified for two more finals.
In the face of this campaign, Juani feels a double motivation: "Playing on the right is a challenge, it's like starting from scratch. I'm adapting little by little, you have to have patience. They will continue to throw the balloon to me, that's for sure, because with a puncher like Miguel next ... ".
For his part, Miguel Lamperti said goodbye to Tito Allemandi after the Estrella Damm Masters Finals dispute. With his teammate he achieved the runner-up in Valencia but, nevertheless, the great Team NOX player lacked that joy for which his game is characterized: “For this reason, this year, it is different and much more motivating. I needed to feel excited and happy again on a day-to-day basis, in training sessions, on the track… And with Juani I think I will achieve it. It is a small dream to play with him again after so many years. He is a great player and does not need to prove anything. Maybe later we will be a disaster and we will not win a game, but we have a very great illusion ”.
The 'genius of white hair' was very sharp to say: "With Juani I would like to retire. Since I could not do it with Maxi Grabiel, who was the best partner I had, I would like to finish my professional career at his side "
They both really want but they know they won't have it easy. There will be new couples at the top of the Ranking, who also promise to give a lot of war without forgetting the young players who have been stomping behind. In that sense, Juani pointed out: “There is a lot of talk about those of us who are always at the top but we must not lose sight of the young people… They come quietly, working and fighting a lot. I bet on all of them and I think they are going to give many surprises this season ”.
Lamperti and Mieres promise to give this 2016 the maximum but they want to go match by match and fight for the final rounds, although they do not get overwhelmed by the results or the trophies. "What we want is to put everything on our part in training and on the track, and if then there are no victories, it will be because our rivals are superior."
Companions from children and 'eternal rivals' as adults, have just joined their paths with the desire that it be the beginning of a beautiful and fruitful relationship.
