As of that moment, Conce played three tournaments with Diego Ramos, another three with Fede Quiles, a Challenger with Chico Gomes, another with Alex Ruiz and, since the Seville event, consolidated a project together with Extremadura's José Antonio García Diestro.
His best results this season were the semifinals of the Challengers of Lisbon (next to Uri) and La Finca, where in the company of Alex Ruiz they fell for 6-4 and 6-1 against Godo Díaz-Lucho Capra, the subsequent winners of said test.
The withdrawal by a principle of gastroenteritis of José Antonio García Diestro in the first round match of the Keler Euskadi Open ended a campaign that Javier Concepción himself defined as follows:
"The season is over. We could not finish it as we would have liked since my partner had to retire due to stomach problems that he had been dragging since Tuesday. Congratulate him for the great effort he has made and for leaving everything he had on the track.
I want to thank different people who have been helping me this year. Especially my trainer, Fernando Lérida, for the support and dedication that he has shown me. To my physical trainer, Juanma Blázquez, for another year in which we have worked very well and the whole group of physical preparation. I can not leave myself sports psychologist Óscar Lorenzo or Rodrigo Ovide, with whom I was at the beginning of the campaign.
It has been a tough campaign, from which I am left with all the positive things to improve and give more war in 2017. Now it is time to rest and recharge batteries to get even stronger in a season in which I have a lot of desire and enthusiasm and for which I am going to leave everything I have inside me to perform at the maximum.
