Catalan coach and Advisor to the new Governing Body of the FEP, one more week he wanted to share his always interesting reflections with paddle fans. On these dates so indicated, if I had to make a wish 'sufferer' for 2017 would be new rules and new formats that make this wonderful sport a more attractive show.

Padel World Press .- Take tennis for a while thinking about the possibility of introducing new rules that stimulate the game, with the aim of getting the viewer, or to be more precise, the viewer, to stay hooked to the screen.

It is definitely that we do not get hooked to the game from the 3-3, if not to maintain interest from the first minute of play.

To achieve this, several alternatives are considered: reduce the warm-up time (a real headache for the televisions), reduce the sets to 4 games with tie break in the 3-3, use the gold point, reduce the tie break to 5 points, no repetition of the let in the service or even allow the free circulation of the spectators without waiting for the changes.

The paddle has problems very similar to tennis that, in a tiny sport like ours, can prevent us from the definitive international expansion.

We have an addition that worsens our situation: the insufferable predictability of the results.

But we have, against what happens in the case of tennis, with an argument in favor that unfortunately we do not want to use: we are young and, therefore, we should not have certain ties that provoke traditions.

With all the above, how is it possible that the basic rules of the paddle have not been modified since its inception or, at least, for more than 20 years? How is it possible that certain changes are not proposed as a mere intellectual debate? Why are not tests done with new standards?

In short, where is the revolutionary spirit of such a young sport? Is it that we are going to tow tennis when it gives us the opportunity to overtake?

Javier Casadesús.
